Re: Evil Presidents
James K. Polk was probably the best president we ever had not named Bush or Reagan. Why, if he hadn't liberated Texas from the greedy Mexicans, George W. Bush would have been El Presidente De Mexico instead of the man who saved the free world from the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq!

Re: Evil Presidents
George Washington was agnostic and Warren G Harding most likely committed suicide as a result of all the scandal that plagued his presidency. Ulysses S Grant was an intemperate drunkard most of his life. Some of these are complete misses.

I am supposed to believe William McKinley was a good President? Didn't William Jennings Bryan run against him?

So then you agree that the papist Kennedy was an abject failure as president? I'm surprised. I thought you mary worshipers stuck together.Originally posted by Father Thomas Martin View PostI agree with your list...EXCEPT:
Nixon: evil

And FWIW, I don't think LBC would put Lincoln on that "good" list (though he's near the top of mine)

Re: Evil Presidents
Millard Fillmore can go down in the lower portion of Good and Righteous Presidents
- He placed Federal officers at the disposal of slaveholders seeking fugitives (good) but,
- By way of compromise, abolished the slave trade in the District of Columbia.(bad)
- He refused to join the Republican Party; (bad) but,
- Throughout the Civil War he opposed President Lincoln (good)
