Yes. You are very kind. I hope I am not offending you but this could become a path to discard all these organized doctrines and I am starting to think that it would be a positive thing in my life. Yes. perhaps in yours, too. There are some good ethics in Jainism or Buddhism or Christianity but perhaps there are even better ones out there. Yes.

Yes. You should understand that I am not a Buddhist and the more I've been studying different religions, the more confused I have become. I am losing my own as I am examining others. We are like the blind men and the elephant. One is touching the trunk and thinking it is a hose, one is touching the feet and interpreting them as columns. One is touching the lingam and I do not dare think how he is interpreting his findings. Yes. Have you chosen a religion without really knowing what it contains? I am here because these people who feel they are true christians know what their beliefs contain. I have met many christians who do not have the knowledge but only opinions. Yes. I am very happy to meet another seeker in this forum. Yes.

If I were you I would start studying comparative religion and comparative mythology. Have you read the "Masks of God" by Joseph Campbell. It is a classic but it has important messages. There are only partial truths and it is possible that the actual truth is only in our brains.

Buddhism is the non-violence and harmony but it is also many other things. There have been Buddhist states of Sukhothai and most importantly Japan with Zen that used Buddhism to advocate violence and conquest. There are the buddhist monks and nuns but the nuns are being treated much more harshly with many more regulations. Yes. There is nihilism and the habit of keeping the poor and the oppressed in their low position to be rewarded in next life. Yes. I am thinking it is always the same. It is the same with christianity. Reward in the next life. I do not know if this is true but it is keeping these poor people in their suppressed role and it is used very efficiently by the leaders. Yes. This life is not important and you must suffer. The secular state has been fighting this by taking away the suffering but buddhism tries to take it away by turning inward and ignoring it. Yes, they do charity. No, they do not always do charity.

There is only one elephant and you can choose the whole elephant also. I am trying to choose it but I am losing the faith. Tradition remains with vegetarianism and chastity. Perhaps they are also mistakes. Thank you, Friend. You have made me verbalize these thoughts. I am more and more confused. Yes. Study comparative religion at a University. Do not be content with only one truth. Take the many truths. Yes.

Let us first assess the information in your assertion. Secular scholars assume that Buddhism was invented in the Indian subcontinent around 500 BC. Even assuming that secular data about Christ are correct, that does not make thousands of years. And if we follow God's Word (we do), we know that Jesus (hence "Christianity") was around already during Creation!

Next. Let us assess the fallacy, the appeal to tradition. Do you consider that all things older are automatically more likely to be correct than newer things? That is a tradition older than Christianity (in the secular world view) and older than Buddhism. Thus, according to your logic, we should follow it. Worship of Baal is older than 0 AD or 500 BC. In science, the satanic concept of evolution embraced by atheists, cat licks and false Christians gives absolutely no possibility of a mind that could be trusted at all. How could quantum fluctuations in the alleged spacetime produce a mind that could RELIABLY examine anything?! If evilootion were true, we would not be able to trust anything. It was the Spartans that did that by the way. Also, i follow a simple moral code which stops me from, well, being immoral. I came to my religious conclusion based upon logic.

1. Those "eyewitness" accounts are not firsthand. I believe Jesus was real, but i do not believe he was the son of god. (Why would real life cities not be recorded in the bible? Many other religion have historical references)

3. What makes you think he was referring Rome? And, even if it was who's to say that was not written after Rome formed.(Did you know Christians were considered atheists by the roman government?)

4. Actually, scribes/writers were quite dependable since to write back then required a life devout to studying language. (Example: Homer)

5. Small changes over time will add up to something grand. If things did spontaneously happen then your argument would be believable. You say he is beyond comprehension, yet claim to know his goals? You cereal?

I am wondering, how do you see your Buddhism? I am thinking, non-violence and vegetarianism are in the core of our religions. Reincarnation is also in the core and violence can make you a lowly creature in the next life. I am not always a good Jainist but how are you as a Buddhist? I hope I am not offending you. Yes. But you use very strong words towards our hosts. I try to say "yes" to everything and I try not to use the word "disgusted" when I am speaking of another blessed and beautiful and sad human being. Yes. It is in the Bible of these people, to turn the cheek. It is in our religions. Buddha was trying to save a dove and the dove was sitting on a scale. Buddha removed his own flesh to tip the balance. He was cutting of a part of his arm and then a bigger part but it was not working out. Yes. He had to give his whole body to save the tiny dove. Verbal violence is also violence. If we spit in the wind our own faces will be soiled. If we fly with the wind the wind will no longer be violent or harsh. Yes. I am hoping that you stay and that we can learn about the Christianity and perhaps also be teaching each other. Yes.

I never said Christianity was a joke... I only said people make a joke out of it.(Satire) Anyway i'm checking out permanently, and i will try and find a forum where debate does not give you backlash. Also, try and keep fellow admins from being so insensitive. My friend died due to part of her brain shutting down, and i get someone who tells me she deserved it. Later her older sister who had brain damage to the point of being blissfully aware of the outside world is shot by a Christian because she did not respond to him. Try and understand why i snapped. Good luck, hope you open your eyes soon.
