Beloved Leader Obama announced today that he will appoint a “Cyber Czar” to handle “internet security”. How will the goal of preventing cyberterrorism be achieved? Will it include eliminating dissenting views on the Web?
The Washington Post describes the position’s duties:
Will it simply be virus and hacker protection? Or will it extend to fighting “cyberterrorist groups” as defined by Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano?
Is this an attempt to attack Christianity, like the hate crimes legislation?
Is it an opportunity to legislate away politically-incorrect speech and opposition to The Obama? Will this be the death knell for the First Amendment right to free speech? What about the Libertarian party, which seeks to reduce Federal authority? What of sound-money proponents who want the Fed’s influence on the economy reduced? States-rights advocates? Will this be used to attack all of them?
We think it may. What do you think?
The Washington Post describes the position’s duties:
President Obama is expected to announce late this week that he will create a “cyber czar,” a senior White House official who will have broad authority to develop strategy to protect the nation’s government-run and private computer networks, according to people who have been briefed on the plan.
What will this “broad authority” entail? Will it simply be virus and hacker protection? Or will it extend to fighting “cyberterrorist groups” as defined by Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano?
. . . “rightwing extremism in the United States” [includes] not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.
“It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration,” the warning says.
Or God’s Law? Or liberty? Or sound fiscal policy?“It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration,” the warning says.
