    Re: Capital Punishment

Brother Buford that is a GREAT idea!

Executions on pay per view or on commercial TV would be great. All America could pray for their souls as the executioner does his thing.

I am sure that LBC would be a main sponsor. What a great economic stimulus! People from all around the world would watch!

Brother Buford, I like the way you think!

      Re: Capital Punishment

I've read through all of the ideas, nearly all of them are excellent. I don't agree with the reuse of any tissue from the executed homer. It is surely AIDs infected. I would not want an AIDs infected organ inserted into MY body! I also think crucifixion would be inappropriate. Too Christ like.

I think that the punishment should fit the crime, and that the execution should actually raise money for the church.

I think the idea of impalement is excellent. It could be done slowly and painfully enough that it would make good TV viewing. The location of the entry point of the impalement device should be obvious to all of us.

I'm thinking an execution venue could be built cheaply enough. It should hold about 4000 seats, ensuing everyone a good view of the event. A limited supply of seats would ensure the cost of a ticket to the event would be very high. We could sell naming rights for the building for a substantial sum. Lets not underestimate the money that could be raised from concession sales of beer, food, and souvenirs.

TV revenue will be the best profit center. Initially, pay per view would probably generate the most money. I'm sure a beer company would even pay for sponsorship rights. The novelty of live executions will not wear thin for quite a while. Later on perhaps, the broadcast of the executions could be carried on ESPN or FOX. The advertising revenue should earn the church a substantial sum of money.

We can keep costs down by re-using the instrument of impalement.

      Yours in Christ

In the Beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth. Genesis 1.1. This scripture is the first verse of the Bible for a reason. It lays the foundation for the absolute truth found in God's Holy WORD, the Bible.

        Wow, excellent idea.

We shouldn't forget the folks in the upper seats. So maybe some giant screen TVs strategically placed around the arena.

An we might consider a "name" announcer and "color" commentator.

Maybe Al Michaels for the play-by-play.

And John Madden for "color" work. "Bam", "Boom", and he could imitate the sound of the pole "sluicing" in.

That's a good point, but I blame the problems on affirmative action and some people getting uppity notionms about their place in life. In the good old days when this was a Christian nation most of us knew our place in life.

People quickly figured out what they were good at and if they lived a good Christian life did what God intended for them to do. People who were good at executions found their place in the community and since it was part of God's plan. Since they were doing the work of the Lord the job got done quickly and properly.

Affirmative action, our corrupt gov't and educational system result in people not winding up in the roles where they were intended. You have an unraveling of society. The wrong people wind up being elected to public office, handling money or whatever, because someone got the idea that we are all equal and should have equal opportunities.

Seriously if God wanted someone to be a porter, or collect garbage or shine shoes they should use the abilities they were given to the utmost. God has already picked our spiritual leaders, our politicians, those men who should run our economy. People should get these uppity ideas out of their heads and stop having false aspirations.

The reason the justice system is so inefficient is that it is filled with people who were not intended for these jobs, but who have notions due to affirmative actions and other non-Christian gov't policies.

Things aren't going to become right again until some people understand that each of us has our place in life where we should toil and to stop thinking that want to do what the lord unintended for other people. We are all equal under the Lord; it just appears that some are more equal than others.
Acts 3:24-25 "The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else."

I just wanted to add that I think we could generate some more profit by letting people bid for the job as executioner. I bet there are some gun clubs out there who would bid some serious money for some real "live fire" practice.

The money raised from these events could be used for humanitarian Christian purposes, like missionary work, or harassing abortion clinics.
