Re: Wal-Mart ELIMINATES paychecks! True Christians rejoice
You know, Reverend Rodimer, it justs burns me up the way these Wal-Mart workers (actually, they're Wal-Mart "associates") won't take individual responsibility for their own finances. They're always whining about the minimum wage and the fact that they can't get full-time benefits because Wal-Mart employs them for 39 hours per week. But if they'd just use their heads, they'd be sitting pretty.
For example, if last October they had taken out a home equity loan and used the cash to short Lehman Brothers, they would have doubled their money. Then they could have taken the profits and gone long on Goldman Sachs. With those profits, just one month ago they could bought gold mining stocks, because gold prices just shot up. By doing all of the above, they'd have 5 times as much as they do now.
But did they do any of this? Nooooo, of course not. They just want the nanny state to take care of them by increasing taxes on the rich and giving Wal-Mart associates free socialized medicine.
It's this welfare mentality that destroyed the Roman empire. The slaves all wanted a 40-hour work week and free healthcare, and look what happened. America had best learn these lessons before it's too late.
