LBC has always been a Republican Church--a branch of the local Iowa Republican Party.
In the story above, anti religious people are trying to threaten the tax exempt status of a Christian group because it endorsed the opponent of a transgendered Democratic Party candidate. The rules are that if you are a "tax exempt" organization, and donations can be deducted for the donor's income tax, the organization cannot endorse party candidates. That is as unAmerican as burning the Flag.
Voting for a transgendered candidate would be a sin. The government cannot come into an election situation and tell people, "Change your religion, it's election time." Religion does not change. If being transgendered is a sin before and after the election, it's also a sin during the election. Thus, endorsing a straight Republican is not a political thing, it is exercising religous freedom.
I suppose they will come after Landover Baptist next. But, it is the same with us. Voting for Obama instead of a Christian like Sarah would also be a sin. Thus, the government cannot come in and say, "LBC, you endorsed Sarah so you are practicing politics." We are not. We are in church.
