I Hate to confess this (and sound like a cat-licker) but I, too, am getting tired of Yellow Ribbons on SUVs - at least without the Flags to compliment them. Remember how it was at first? Boy, are people ever getting lazy. I guess it was just too much trouble for them to blow a bugle over the vehicle in the late afternoon, unfurl the Flag, while standing at Attention, then furl 'em back up in the morning for the next day's driving. Pityful; simply pity-ful.

When has America ever lost a war? For that matter, when's the last time England fought a war without America? Suez?

Let's not be coy. America certainly has the foremost technological armed forces, but we aren't invincible. This is proved time and time again in the Brushfire Wars in African, the Vietnam War, and of course the Korean War. It's ideologies like these that keep us from winning such wars like these. We're not invincible. But we are quite good at what we do.


Additionally, England has fought many, many wars without America. Since...America has been around for LESS than 300 years. England has warred with Rome, France, Germany, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, India, African colonies and more - and have won and lost many. To say America has been England's only hope, is just ignorant. Something I believe this religion preaches against.

I'll humor you since I know the man behind the computer is merely yanking my chain. But, my research paper is much less exciting then the thought that someone somewhere could be that dumb. I digress.

Life for Life is not an applicable way of measuring how a War is won. If you took any form of American History there are a number of ways to win a War. Demoralizing the enemy, killing the leader, razing everything in your site...etc. However, in a person vs. person situation a country like India, that vastly outnumbers us, proves the paradoxical qualities in such an assumption. Either way, we LOST the Vietnam war because we LEFT after ADMITTING defeat. I guess if you can't trust the field generals, the President, and others you can't trust anyone in that regard. Either way, sure we killed more, but they won the war and THAT'S why North Vietnam took over South Vietnam and instilled communism. While your 5th grade social studies skills catch up, I'll wait over here ----> .

No, we left Vietnam because the mission was accomplished. Think about it: it was Nixon and Ford who withdrew the troops. Republicans, not Democrats. They weren't Democrats, so it wouldn't make any logical sense for them to cut and run. Therefore, we left because we'd accomplished our mission.
