WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrat John Edwards and Republican Rudy Giuliani were abandoning their presidential bids on Wednesday, shrinking the field to two main candidates in each party.

The surprise announcement by Edwards, a former North Carolina senator who was his party's vice presidential nominee four years ago, left former first lady Hillary Clinton facing Illinois Sen. Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination in what seemed likely to be an long, bruising struggle.

I hate to disagree with you, but it seems there's still a demoncrat named Mike Gravel who's still running for president.

I'm not sure what his platform is; but it seems he's trying to make a name for himself by slandering our beloved President.
