  • Gov. Perry Declares August 6th Day of Prayer and Fasting.

Gov. Rick Perry of Texas wants to follow the Bible and pray to make the world's problems go away. It's about time that a politician realizes that by trying to fix our own problems, we incur the wrath of God.

    The Bible says:

"The eyes of the LORD [are] upon the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their cry.
The face of the LORD [is] against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
[The righteous] cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles."

    Psa 34:15-17

God knows what He's talking about. If it's written in the Bible, then it must be true. It logically follows.
I know I will be praying that the usurper of the White House chokes on watermelon seeds or a fried chicken bone.
“While the form of treachery varies slightly from case to case, liberals always manage to take the position that most undermines American security.”

Re: Gov. Perry Declares August 6th Day of Prayer and Fasting.

Governor Perry, despite not being a Baptist, frequently strikes me as Godly. He recognizes that such things like the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico can't be explained and that they are an act of God.

Trying to explain such complex things would be like trying to explain how tides work! There's no way of truly knowing, and Occam's Razor tells us that the simplest explanation is always correct. And what simpler explanation could there be than "God did it." Think about that for a bit, scientists.

But Governor Perry has once again put his wisdom and Godliness on display in his comments announcing his Day of Prayer:

Declaring that “some problems are beyond our power to solve,” Texas Gov. Rick Perry ® is asking his 49 fellow governors to join him at an evangelical Christian prayer meeting in Houston to “call upon Jesus to guide us” and ask for “God’s forgiveness, wisdom and provision.”

Perry states, “There is hope for America, and we will find it on our knees … [a]s a nation, we must come together, and call upon Jesus to guide us.”

The statement of faith for the event, taken from the American Family Association, states, in part, “We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential” and that non-Christians “are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.”
    II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power

The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. Rushdoony

Re: Gov. Perry Declares August 6th Day of Prayer and Fasting.

I was very pleased to read in this morning's paper that Iowa's Godly Republican Governor, Terry Braindead Branstad, will be attending the Day of Prayer and Fasting.

While it is true Terry carries a few extra pounds, I don't believe a Texas-style BBQ following the event will hurt him all that much.
