Re: Newt's Three Marriages Will Make Him a Better President.
I would have no problem with Newt, if he just didn't divorce the women.
Matthew 5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
There is only one reason for divorce, and that's a cheating wife. We know it wasn't the woman who cheated, it was the man.
EXCEPT, that Newt didn't commit adultery. Since adultery is only between a man and a married woman (Leviticus 20:10); and Newt only put his willy into girls that he later married (that we know of) then we have no proof that he wasn't betrothed to these women prior to the first time of intercourse. *shudders*
The issue is not adultery, as no adultery was committed. The issue is that his wives weren't biblical enough to allow him to have multiple wives, like Jacob (Israel) did, like David did, like Solomon did.
In fact, he's more like Solomon.
1 Kings 11:4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.
Newt's religion changing ways is exactly like Solomon. You wonder why a man changes his religion? It's because of the tang!
But, again, I harp on the changing of religion, which isn't what this thread is about.
My problem is that he divorced these women, WITHOUT having cause, which is the women being fornicators.
I wonder did he marry the third woman in a Cathylick church? He claims to be Cathylick now, so is his marriage valid in the eyes of his church? Is "wife has disease" reason enough for annulment in the eyes of the Cathylicks. (Pappy Mo, can you do some research on this to see if his marriage is valid?)
