I got an email today from a member of my congregation which is saying that we want independent fact-checkers at the Presidential debates!

What a great idea. We could catch Obama in his lies, and make him answer for them on live television!

Have unbiased fact checkers at the presidential and vice presidential debates so that voters can base their decisions on facts rather than rhetoric.

Voters must know what is true before they can make decisions that are in their own best interest and that of our country. It would be best if the fact checking is done during the commercials and then before the next round of debates, the fact-checkers' findings could be read without comment. This would be much more powerful than reading about it in the newspapers the next day.

Vicki Meyer, I'm told, is a leading Republican operative.

I sure hate when they start talking numbers and (so-called) facets in the election. All I want to hear from my candidate is that he gives me his word strait up. Romney has told us he is sure he never paid less than 13% tax. Done deal. Likewise when he tells me he wants to improven or better up America, or whatever it was exactly he said. Done deal. It doesn't matter exactly - Romney is our guy in 2012. A bunch of nummers nad facets from Bill Hussain Clinton won't any of change that.

He's a slippery character. He evaded the Birth Certificate question for 3 years before handing us a rough forgery - the mainstream media gave him a complete free pass. Why? Because they are in fear, like all of us.

Compare with George W Bush - when he attacked Iraq in 2003 he was criticized non-stop by liberal hacks like Victoria Plame's husband.

So how can there be any independent fact checking when everyone is terrified of Obama's anger? I don't trust the independents anyway.
