Friends, a disturbing trend is taking over God's Favorite Nation. Not only are so-called "Christians" increasingly supporting Sodomite Marriage, now even God's Own Party (GOP) has become infected with demonic influences.
Republican Senator Rob Portman (Ohio) announced a "change of heart" on a most important issue that has ramifications that affect us in this life and in eternity. Once considered to be worthy of running as Vice President with Mitt Romney, Portman has announced he has turned his back on God's will and is endorsing legalizing sodomy:
Portman has repeatedly received a “0″ rating, the lowest possible, from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) for his position on LGBT issues. This means of course that he has been on the side of justice and Godliness (until now). Portman has served in both the House and the Senate, and voted both for DOMA — the Defense of Marriage Act of 1996 that bans the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriages — and for a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage. So what changed his mind? His gay son. This begs the question , what is a True Christian™ to do when a son announces that he would rather explore the nether regions of a stranger's anus in a random truck stop or airport bathroom than to love and serve Jesus (who only died temporarily for his sins)?
What does the Holy Bible tell us?
The Bible consistently tells us that sodomy is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9). Romans 1:26-27 teaches specifically that homosexuality is a result of rejecting God and choosing instead to act like animals. When people continue in sin and unbelief, God looses His Holy Patience and gives up on them. These animals can do what they want, and God won't get in the way, but they won't be invited to the Ultimate Party in Heaven (1 Corinthians 6:9). You'd think gays would be a little more mindful, seeing how they love to party.

The onus is on the parent to teach Godly character to the child, to train up the child to be a True Christian™ in order to avoid an eternity of Hell (Proverbs 22:6). Children who are not disciplined grow up rebellious, have no respect for authority, and are unable to willingly obey and follow God. This is how people become gay in the first place - they have no self-control because the had no parental control in childhood. God Himself uses discipline to correct us and lead us down the right path and to encourage repentance for our wrong actions (Psalm 94:12; Proverbs 1:7; 6:23; 12:1; 13:1; 15:5; Isaiah 38:16; Hebrews 12:9), we should do no less for our children(1 Peter 1:16).
So what is a Good Parent to do?
Heed the wisdom of the LORD. God did not let empathy get in the way of justice and neither should we!
Do not withhold discipline from a child. If disciplined correctly, the child will not die (Proverbs 23:13-15). If disciplined correctly, the child will reject their sin nature and instead learn to fear God (Proverbs 22:15). If disciplined correctly, the child will not be an embarrassment to the parent (Proverbs 29:17; Proverbs 29:15). If disciplined correctly, the child will learn to be grateful for punishment (Proverbs 12:1). And remember, the LORD commands children to be obedient unto their parents (Deuteronomy 5:16), lest they suffer in this life (Deuteronomy 28:15-68), and then in the next (Revelation 20:15).
Senator Portman would do well to read the Holy Bible and be aware of the choices he faces. He should encourage his son to do the right thing and abstain from embracing rewarding romantic and intimate relationships with people to which he is emotionally and physically attracted. He may feel loved and valued in this life with an intimate relationship with another man, but at what cost?

I’ve come to the conclusion that for me, personally, I think this is something that we should allow people to do, to get married, and to have the joy and stability of marriage that I’ve had for over 26 years. That I want all of my children to have, including our son, who is gay,” said Portman.
Will Portman told his father and mother he is gay two years ago, when he was a freshman at Yale University.
“My son came to Jane, my wife, and I, told us that he was gay, and that it was not a choice, and that it’s just part of who he is, and that’s who he’d been that way for as long as he could remember,” said Portman.
What was the Republican senator’s reaction?
“Love. Support,” responded Portman.
