There is a proposal coming up in Texas, regarding the amendment of Article XVI, Texas Constitution. The proposal is all about authorizing line-of-credit in the advances under a reverse mortgage. There are many organisational and social support made in favour of this proposal. According to those who are in favour of this proposal, the reverse mortgages are a popular means by which senior citizens tap the equity in their homes. This is done in order to have some accessibility towards making the payment of their day-to-day expenses of retired life and thereby to meet the daily needs. This is a provision that is available only in Texas. It is the only state that does not allow some form of line-of-credit reverse mortgage. On the contrary people are privileged to have some independence in case of line-of-credit reverse mortgage. This was a prevailing advantage for the senior citizens for the state. According to a local correspondent, David Disiere, by means of this they will be able to have financial support in their time of need. As it is during old age people are in more need of financial support for the security of health and other miscellaneous stuff, this proposal is going to be a great support to them. This is the reason that this proposal has been highly acclaimed by many citizens. It is a great honor for all those people who are retired and are old enough to earn their living. The basic supporters are all those people who feel that this proposal will make the elderly people more independent and will make them feel good at heart. The proposal seems to have good response in the parliament too and will amend the constitution for the same.

I don't know what any of that mumbo jumbo means. Maybe if these old people were radio pundits like me they wouldn't need all of these government handouts and welfare like you're describing.
