Michelle Obama:? Barack will fight for gay rights

NEW YORK (AP) — Barack Obama will fight for equal rights for gays just as he fought to help working-class families overcome poverty, the Democratic presidential hopeful's wife told a gay Democratic group last week. "Barack believes that we must fight for the world as it should be, a world where together we work to reverse discriminatory laws," Michelle Obama said at a Manhattan fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee's Gay & Lesbian Leadership Council. Touting her husband's record pushing for workplace discrimination legislation as an Illinois state senator and his support for civil unions, Obama noted her husband also had brought a call for equality to conservative groups, telling churchgoers they need to combat homophobia in the black community.

NEW YORK (AP) — Barack Obama will fight for equal rights for gays just as he fought to help working-class families overcome poverty

I apologize for not reading all of your post, but I had to get up and vomit after I read this much of it.

The way to overcome poverty is through prayer, hard work, and pulling yourself up by your bootstraps -- NOT by loafing around and relying on hard-earned dollars from working Americans.

Similarly, the way for so-called 'gays' to get equal rights is to get saved and ask Jesus to help them overcome their temptation to live in a sinful lifestyle, and then marry the opposite sex like regular folks -- NOT by having the government pass a bunch of crazy laws to justify their sin by giving them a bunch of special privileges, and/or by having activist judges declaring common sense to be unconstitutional. I suppose they'll be wanting me to pay for their AIDS drugs next.

Barack Obama, in a letter to the Toklas LGBT Democratic Club, strongly opposed the California ballot initiative to ban same-sex marriage. It's a risky move. He will likely face criticism that by opposing the initiative in a state that has legalized same sex marriage, he's supporting gay marriage. (Officially, he has said marriage is between a man and a woman). There's also a church angle to this. Obama's longtime denomination, the United Church of Christ (it's also my family's church), has endorsed same-sex marriage and ordained gay pastors.



That's some "church" that little mulatto boy goes to. I guess their Bible doesn't have Acts or Leviticus in it.
