My friend, Governor Terry Branstad, is in deep political trouble for doing a fine job of serving Iowa.
The trouble involves some Civil Service employees hired when there was a Democrat Governor.
When a good Republican gets elected, like Terry, he wants Civil Service people who are hired on their merits. Merit is when a person is successful enough in the private sector to give money to the Governor's political campaign. These hires came in when there was a Democratic Governor and had no merit--so Terry had them all fired.
But, Terry has a big heart. He gave each of them severance pay with the stipulation they not talk about the amount of public money given them or the silence agreement. There are lots of State funds available in Iowa, so what's the big deal with some hush money?
Now, the Des Moines Register and their friends, Democrats, are having a cow. We need to rally around our friend, Gov. Terry Branstad, and stop the stupid investigation into hush money payments.
