One of the things I hate is how liberals always want to amend the Constitution. They do not understand that the Constitution was written by the Founders. You can't just change the words of the Founders. It's so much like the Bible - we don't go around changing the Bible, which was written by God, whom all Founders acknowledge is the one true Founder. My point is that The Word was written. Written. You can't change it whenever you feel like aborting a fetus or become bicurious about an attractive blond pastor.

Re: The Constitution
Based on recent comments by the President, I am retracting this post. I fully support his proposed Amendment.
Trump calls for the termination of the Constitution
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.

Re: The Constitution
There is "Constitution" meaning a piece of paper—or parchment or papyrus—with certain principles written on it, such as the principles of law. In some sense this could be considered "the spirit of the law" but really it's (quite literally) the letter of the law or at least of constitutional law.
There is also "constitution" meaning what comprises something, a pie, say. There is pastry, meat, salt, bit of gravy, maybe an onion and a pie dish or a lid so you can put it down without getting ants. Sometimes an ancient farmer will be described as having "a strong constitution" i.e. solid bones, elastic tendons, savage muscles, a powerful sneeze to clear the sinuses of microbes, resistance to disease and the ability to leap fences with a single bound. The things that make him up are strong. The things in the pie are tasty.
A nation also has the second type of constitution. A head of state, road rules, a judiciary, sewerage laid on, consumer regulations, one or more legislative bodies, enforcement agencies and so on – much like the constitution of a pie. This would remain whether or not the paper was destroyed, as surely it must be eventually but since we can still read about King Tut, that's unlikely in the near term, so what we're considering is if the written principles lapsed. That could be by a sunset clause appended as an amendment or by a Bill terminating its validity.
In any event, the underlying principles of the nation would remain, as "the spirit of the law" or "the spirit of the constitution" without any accompanying letters. The way any nation was constituted would still exist as long as the nation existed. And the most important ingredient is Jesus.
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
