Re: A Question for the Married and Engaged Forum Members

Some of you may think that engagement rings are merely a vulgar display of material wealth, worn by women of no taste. This is far from being the case.

    1 Timothy 2:9-10
    In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

    Isaiah 3:16-24
Moreover the Lord saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will discover their secret parts.
In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,
The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
    The rings, and nose jewels,
The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,
The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.
And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

I do hope, Samuel, that when your cousin's wife suffers this fate you will post the photos here, to serve as a warning to other misguided men and women.

It is important to have a close relationship before choosing to marry. For example, I married my third cousin and it ended in disaster.

Praise God, my cousin has proposed!

        I most certainly will, Sister!

You are absolutely correct, Brother! The close relationship was my cousin's main excuse for putting off the proposal. But it's all over now and plans are being made for the wedding.

My wife has a pattern for a modest burlap wedding dress if the bride-to-be would like to sew herself something appropriate for the occasion.

Thank you for the suggestion, Brother Hammer! I'll call my cousin and direct him to this thread so he can show his bride-to-be your suggestion. I'm sure that the two of them will love it, especially since his bride-to-be is incredibly modest and likes to avoid any kind of showy, flashy garments.

I also have a pair of bolt cutters he can purchase from me (I ship 2nd Day Air) if he anticipates trouble removing her chastity belt, sometimes the keyholes can get kind of crusty if not properly maintained.

              Let me know...

Thank you for the generous offer, Brother, but my cousin already has some bolt cutters. Also, my cousin and his future wife saw your offer about the wedding dress pattern and they'd love it if you could send it to them. Apparently my cousin's future wife was quite happy with the thought of a burlap wedding dress.

Oh, my proposal from my husband was SO ROMANTIC.

We went out, my husband disciplined my ass because dinner was not on the table the second he walked through the door. So after many tears in solitude, and much putting on makeup to cover the bruises, we went to the park. He then sat me down, told me the guidelines to becoming his wife, and I agreed. Then he beat me again.

Point 1: At the time, he was not yet your husband. What was his justification for disciplining you, as you were yet to become his property wife?

Point 2: Why were you co-habitating before marriage?

After speaking with my father and gaining his approval, my husband asked me if I wanted to gain salvation and bear sons. Being a well-raised, Bible-obeying, girl, I said yes, and he told me that he had spoken with my father and gotten permission.
