  • Dear Aunt Annie: My Friend Dumped Me

I don't understand why people bother Aunt Annie with their personal problems. On the other hand, why do they listen to her advice?

Dean Aunt Annie: I'm a mom with two little kids and a husband. For some years another couple has been our closest friends. Their kids are the same age. We see them at church, dinners at our homes, exchange baby sitting and have had many good times together. Then one day I told her I'm voting for President Trump. It's been ice cold ever since. Won't pick up the phone, no play dates, nothing. What should I do? Perplexed

Dear Perplexed--What a sweet person you are. I'm so glad you wrote me. You can give her a lesson. Go after her husband. Flirt with him, phone calls, notes, the whole nine yards. She will be even madder, but your life will be more exciting. Aunt Annie
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

    It leaves me flabbergasted.
Perhaps the letter writer does not make herself presentable. Shabby clothes, unkempt hair, poor personal hygiene. Those are reasons I avoid some women. Seems simple to me. Are ladies really THAT empty headed?

    Seems simple to me:
    Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
Titus 2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
Titus 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

I don't think that I could remain in any church where some of the members didn't support Donald Trump.

God chose President Trump to lead us through these crazy times when we are under assault by Mexican rapists who want to steal our jobs, Godless Chinese commies who actually have stolen our jobs, abortionists who want to murder our children, Antifa terrorists who think that equality is a right rather than a privilege to be earned, Muslims who want to kill us all because we worship a better God, and scientists and doctors who insist on using evidence to defeat COVID when we perfectly well know that it will go away on its own if we just stop shuttering our economy. Any church that refuses to endorse and enforce this point of view is, in my opinion, a synagogue of Satan.

As for why people burden Aunt Annie with their problems, the answer is simple--because she listens.

Amen, Dear! You are really "telling it like it is", as the youngsters used to say back in their hippie days. And another well-known preacher has recently said the very same thing as you: Jim Bakker. Here is a quote, and a link to the page where this comes from:

"On a recent episode of The Jim Bakker Show, host Jim Bakker had some concerning news for anyone planning to vote for the Democratic ticket this November: They’ll be aligning themselves with the Prince of Darkness. “A lot of people that are voting this week … they’re voting for their faith, and their faith is Satan worship,” Bakker said."

Oh, I must give dear Annie a call some day soon. It's been ages since we've had a good, old chit-chat. Why, I think I'll invite her to join us at an upcoming Wednesday Afternoon McGill Street Ladies' Prayer Meeting, Bible Study and Tea & Social. Annie's presence will be most welcome, and she knows the other ladies.

Now, then, as for the poor dear with the missing friend, well, what can I add, except: Honey, be glad you're rid of her. True friends don't throw you under the bus. And, who needs friends like that, especially when they refuse to see just how glorious our beloved President Trump has helped to make great once again!

It may seem extreme to cut people out of your life simply because of a few political differences but consider 2 Corinthians 6:14:

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.
