TikTok moderator sues over 'psychological trauma'

    https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-59819664

A former TikTok moderator is suing the company, claiming it failed to protect her mental health after "constant" exposure to traumatic video content.

Candie Frazier says she reviewed videos that featured "extreme and graphic violence" for up to 12 hours a day.

She says she suffers from "significant psychological trauma", including anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Only 12 hours a day? And paid for it? Color me unsympathetic.

I want Ms Candie to try to imagine what it's like being a True Christian 24/7/365. Every day we are persecuted and mocked for our religious beliefs. Every day homers do God-knows-what behind closed doors. Every day men and women wear more than two cloths. Do you hear us complaining about our deteriorating mental health and making legal threats in all 50 States about losing the election? Let's go, Candie.
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.

Could her husband not afford to support his family? Were McDonald's not hiring? So much moaning, so little common sense.

Tik Tok. That is on the internet right? How can anyone on the internet not be used to ´traumatic video content´ Although that is in the eye of the beholder of course.
Jeremiah 6:21 Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.

Best wishes for the people in Ukraine.

Traumatic content?! Pfft! Has she not read the Holy Bible? How many genocides are detailed in its pages? And what about all those smitings? Besides the regular rapes and threats of rapes, there is at least one example of a wayward young woman being raped to death.

At one time in my life, I considered those events to be disturbing and I didn't want to read about them, but I faced the idea that if God included them in His sacred book of instructions to humanity, then pretending those stories weren't in the Bible was kind of delusional.

Nowadays, if anyone wants to talk about God, I'm happy to let them know what His scriptures really have to say. I've had a few people avoid me for that reason, but no one ever threatened to sue.

President Trump banned TikTok. Clearly he knew best. If she had listened, she wouldn't be in this situation.
I was sinking deep in sin far from the peaceful shore,
          Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more;

Oh that reminds me what our poor moderators at the LBC have to put up with. The worst stuff - much worse than TikTok probably. I'd hate to see the unfettered filth the Trash try to insert here. Praise God our posts are monitored 24/7 and protected by the built-in JesOS filter.

Imagine if the poor wretch had to work in Reykjavík!

PASTORS' INFORMATION - is this suitable for Church members?

I'm trying to get my friends off that African drums stuff and have
been looking for something from a cooler climate. Although very
different, I'm not sure if it's necessarily better. Really looking for
something to substitute for the "rap" but they do need to like it.
Or at least find it interesting. Thanks.

I have no idea what this is. Sickening! WARNING, he's probably

Re: TikTok moderator sues over 'psychological trauma'

Luke 7:32-35 They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced, we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept. For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil. The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners! But wisdom is justified of all her children.

They all seem to be following a different rhythm, like broken clockwork. Jesus acknowledges that when music is played in the marketplace, as the shops indicate, dancing is appropriate. I'm not sure if that racket qualifies as music, but there are speaker systems involving pipes so I'll allow such devices to be "piping" (verb) and consider the non-dancing.

There really are a lot of styles.

The 15th century is the first period in western history to have dances documented well enough for reconstruction. Several surviving manuscripts describe the dances of the aristocracy, for whom dance was an important courtly pastime. The dances from the northern courts (primarily Burgundy – a large area north of the Alps including some of present-day France, Germany and the Netherlands) tended to be conservative and Gothic. Southern France (Provence) was more innovative, while Italy was the hotbed of the avant garde. https://socialdance.stanford.edu/Syllabi/early_renaissance.htm

No surprises there. Even so, I doubt either of the Icelandic gentlemen qualify for avant garde. God has always been concerned for our welfare, knowing how dreadful the outcome is when poor choices are made. Psychological trauma is the least of it: imagine how God must have felt after all His work and patience?

§ I will not be including graphics for this section. The Israelites had been rescued after three toxic centuries and arrived in Sinai which is still Egypt but Pharaoh's army were all drowned so they were safe. How did they celebrate? Far worse than anything in Reykjavík, probably exceeding even TikTok standards. God had compensated them for the centuries with jewels of silver and gold purloined from the Egyptians. And at the first opportunity they threw it all away for a good old-fashioned orgy!

Exodus 12:35-36; 32:3-6 The children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians . . . [Later on] all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf . . . they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.

This sort of carrying-on distressed God as nude dancing and revolting avant garde fancies distress TikTok moderators today. God identified which nationalities were likely to introduce such themes to His Chosen People and commanded that no intercourse be established between them. Not much had changed by the 15th century; it's still the same today. The Bible is explicit that "rising up to play" is done in the nude and how many dance events advertise themselves as clothing optional? Satan doesn't care how he gets people to worship him and doesn't care about mental health collapse afterwards. Jesus understood that demons are active then, taught that devils cause "fits" and "nervous breakdowns" which in the 21st century are said not to exist at all. And yet people still have fits! Still sit down to eat and drink who knows what, strip off, prance all shiny around the flickering firelight in unimaginable ways that are certain to be revolting even though we can't imagine what they do (or look like) but God taxed them severely so they lost all their Egyptian gold just as that TikTok moderator has lost her mind to demons.

Exodus 32:20, 25-27 [Moses] took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it . . . when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies) then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD'S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him. And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.

The Nords are a strange people of excellent racial stock but odd customs, kind of like the Japanese of Europe. Imagine walking through a snowy woods all alone and hearing this:

That's the sound you hear before you get sacrificed to Odin as a burnt offering.

It might sound a little silly, I guess, but if that's how they want to call you in to enjoy a cup of their hot chocolate, I wouldn't turn a deaf ear.

Mr. DD5, it's all very well posting your opinions on our servers but somebody has to pay to host it and somebody has to pay to maintain it. That's not you, it's Jesus. This is His precious bandwidth you're wasting with uninformed speculation. How about you try supporting what you say with Bible verses, or if there are none, then think about what that means. It means Jesus does not support your opinion and you are making Him weep by spending His hard-earned dollars on a bunch of baloney.

I'm not sure whether a moderator (working 12 hours a day) would qualify as a "user" even if there were time left over after that & eating & sleeping.
