Landover Baptist Wants to Hear About Your Sin

While Landover Baptist is famous for its work in the field of sin, most churches and their preachers try to pretend sin is not a big problem. They mention the word sin but quickly move on without burrowing more deeply into this important topic.

I was relieved to learn about a pastor in Tennesse who preaches forcefully all Christians must admit to their sins and lay them on the table. Landover has always been forceful in that requirement. Anyone who wants to be a part of this circle of people that Jesus loves more than others needs to fess up. We have no use for secret sins or secretive sinners.

Mr. Mayor, let me emphasize some points made by the Pastor:
    • "There’s nowhere to go. He always sees everything,” Ford emphasized.

    • "He’s in the public places, the private places, when it’s light and when you have the lights off. He sees all things. He’s looking over your shoulder as you scroll through your device."

    • "[I]f you’re walking in disobedience and hiding things, oh it’s a terrifying thought to know that we can’t escape"

    • There will come a day, said Ford, when every Christian’s sin is dragged "out into the light" at that point, and that it might be too late for many.

This is how I imagine sin being dragged out into the light. It is too late for this metrosexual.

Re: Landover Baptist Wants to Hear About Your Sin

Thank you, Dr. Toole, for an excellent addition to this topic. So many Christians look over the horizon and point to some other group, "Look at them sin. I'm glad I'm here and not with that group."

The group pointing at others probably sins even more. We are born sinners but a few of us, Landover Baptist, have taken care of ours. We offer the opportunity for others to resolve their sin as we have done.

But no one can come here and think their sins can tip toe out the back door without being seen. We will find you sin and let you know about them with a loudspeaker.

Sinners out there, let us help you.

Credit must go to the strength of the Leadership. For example, Pastor Zeke does not tolerate deviation. It's absolute. Strong leaders with strong rules, and large crowds.

If this is what is required, then soldiers for Christ will march to your house and drag your sins out onto the street. You'll be on your knees possibly in handcuffs with a hood over your head.

It's important not to make sin too appealing.

As a blood washed child of The King, I have no sin to report; the days of wallowing in temptation and depravity have been transformed into days that allow me to display the superiority of life in Christ. I can’t even remember the last sin I committed.
            Proverbs 21:31 KJV 1611:
“The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but safetie is of the Lord.”

Lord, may I serve my equine brothers and sisters just as I do my fellow man.

Re: Landover Baptist Wants to Hear About Your Sin

We True Christians™ are trained to focus on what Jesus considers important, sin and the sins of others.

An example outside of Landover Baptist is Franklin Graham. He, as did his late father, Billy, preaches about sin. When the country of Haiti was leveled by a hurricane a decade or so ago, Franklin's aids went in immediately to began preparing for a big evangelical event. The homeless and hungry were wondering around everywhere. Franklin's plane arrived and he delivered a wonderful sermon condemning sin. While lesser groups were flying in food and tents Franklin went right to the big issue.

I mention this because today, Easter Sunday, Franklin is preaching among the bombed out rumble in Ukraine. No doubt, the audience will be made up of people looking for food and shelter. My hope is Franklin will blast out a sermon on sin. This is what Jesus wants him to do.

In 1966, as a teenager, I once had sinful thoughts about Raquel Welsh. God's had the last laugh when I see what she looks like in 2022.

Not the fantastic voyage I imagined!

58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; 59 Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance. 60 Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee. 61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bringk upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

The priest at my parish as a young boy told us it was normal to have thoughts about girls and boys. He taught those of us who were altar boys how to deal with such thoughts and often video taped what he called our “getting rid of sin” sessions. How nice of him to take the time to help us through our teen years.
