Says someone who's never smoked cannabis or dealt with chronic pain, or the much worse side effects ANY painkiller can have.

Frankly, fuck off and go chew fentanyl.

It's not the analgesic effects of "Mary Jane" which concern us (although prayer is the best analgesic) but the psychedelic invitation to demons. They roll it up in cigarette papers, the stench is revolting, they pass it over

then when you try a puff or two they know you're a candidate for the full possession experience. Demons are considered not to exist at all in secular paradigms so nothing (it would be claimed) can sweep clean a path for them to enter. Jesus is not one of those. He said that devils cause self harm:
Mark 4:37– 5:13c There arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And [Jesus] was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him? And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, and cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine

We know that devils are real, what other explanation could there be for Jesus conversation with them? and that weed aficionados seek demoniac activities wherever they may be found. Nowhere in The Bible are fragrant herbs recommended for pain relief, although they are mentioned.

That would be a good project for you: Fragrant Herbs In The Bible.

Let's know how you get on.

    It's a part of God's word.

We need to know His position.

All the answers you seek are here:

The good news is, that almost all sins can be forgiven, so there may be a path towards Salvation for you - unless, of course, you have blasphemed against the Holy Ghost. In this case, you're screwed for eternity, as there's no forgiveness for you, buddy:

    Matthew 12:31-32
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy [against] the [Holy] Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the [world] to come.

Neither chocolate nor marihuana are sugar. This decrepitude of language is a sure sign that brain rot more generally has set in, due to the weed. Geriatric nurses will be familiar with it: "Those puce and orange elephant's foot patterned curtains are doing my head in therefore I won't eat this cake!" sort of thing when the curtains are tasteful chrysanthemums and afternoon tea is haslet in brine, served on a plate, with delicious pickled walnuts. Mmmm.

The kief addict and the dementing geriatric are much the same. Satan is the reason.

    Galatians 5:15-16
If ye bite and devour one another take heed that ye be not consumed one of another
·.. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh .

So much for sugar. That poster never returned but sins of the flesh, such as smoking the "spliff" and lolling backwards on your beanbag horribly sprawled where everyone can see but you don't care in fact you're glad they can see due to they might pounce on you so you throw it over to them for a puff just to make sure, in this way are the lusts of the flesh fulfilled.

Now concerning that sweet tea. There are members of the congregation who as wretched heathens consumed this muck (we all know it's not tea really, is it) steeped in a cauldron and passed around like a false communion maybe with sugar or more probably with ice-cubes and LSD for a depraved afternoon. This is what the ganja leads to. Or baked in a cake adorned with clockwork candles for extra effect.

    Do you fancy a slice?

Why yes, Ermintrude, I think I do!

There's a reason for all this. Satan is the reason. And just as no Christians get dumped on with Alzheimer's (at the first inkling a prayer meeting with The Elders would eliminate this malady) so no Christian gets going with sugar men or their obnoxious floozies. Bhang encourages these sins of the flesh and Christians never consume the stuff by any means.

That poster won't return but for others, especially new Christians, we have been provided with Scripture for a reason. All you need to do is read it.
Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

I did not bother to read the rest of your post because it is based on a false assumption: That the marijuana you smoke bears seed/fruit or even is a seed/fruit. The stuff you smoke is female flowers, deliberately not fertilized and not producing seeds as you can´t use it to roll your blunts if they did. And I am sure not producing offspring is a sin too but don´t quote me on that.

By the way, welcome to the forum. You might want to introduce yourself in the introduction forum. I am sure the people here are interested to know how you reconcile your use of marijuana with your Christianity.

Re: Is smoking marijuana a sin?

First of all, I can not believe all the hate that is brought up in this Christian forum! (1 John 4:8) He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is Love. (1 John 4:11) Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

Now I will admit that I am a sinner, and have done much wrong in my life, but through the Grace and Mercy of Christ I know that I am forgiven. To receive this awesome Gift, we are told to Love God and Christ (for they are one) and to love thy neighbor as thyself.

So here is my dilemma! I do love Christ, and I strive to love everyone (which is harder than it sounds!!), but I also smoke weed. I have been battling with what constitutes a sin, and I would really like an educated answer please! Is marijuana a gift? Or is it a sin?

(Genesis 9:3) And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.

(Matthew 15:11) It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.”

My understanding is that Marijuana is a seed being fruit, which God has given us. There are several warnings to be of a sober mind, but also many that tell us we may drink and partake in such gifts as herbs and wine. So I believe that it is telling us we can use it, but don't over use it. As with wine, the more you smoke the higher you get. So if you smoke enough to be of an enlightened mind, but don't abuse it, then there is nothing wrong with it. Also, it depends on how you use it. If you smoke weed to get high and lose control, you are abusing the gift, but if you use it in moderation to meditate and think about God, than it is actually a very useful tool. When I smoke, I can not help but to seek God with a humble heart.

My advice to those asking, I don't believe marijuana use in itself is a sin. Your actions while medicated are still up for debate however! If smoking helps you profess your Love for both God and your neighbors, than I honestly do not see a problem with it! If you curse and sin while high, then repent! It is not a double sin though. Christ tells us that even looking at a person with lust is adultery, and that having anger is equivalent to murder. I think his message is to have a pure mind filled with Love! That is all. So toke and Love! Or don't toke and Love! As long as Love is the result!!!
