Marijuana is a plant there is nothing wrong with plants, if you have flowers in your front yard and trees and you say marijuana is wrong then you my friend are a hipocrite its a beautiful flower that i enjoy to smoke.. The bible also says do not drink to drunkerdness but i see the men on here have NO PROBLEM saying women need to get them a beer. NO WHERE IN THE BIBLE DOES IT SAY DO NOT SMOKE WEED. why do something God says not to in the bible like drinking then say smoking marijuana is bad when THERE IS NOTHING IN THE BIBLE THAT SAYS ITS WRONG

Galatians 5:19-21 has a list of sins that will prevent you from inheriting the Kingdom of Heaven. Sorcery is among them, but if we look at the original greek, the word used is pharmakeia, which means drug use.

This is one of the reasons why I think we need to move away from a strict KJV 1611-only policy. It doesn't quite support our beliefs and policies to the extent we need it to.

I don't think that idea will every fly. But I'm curious, what version would you select? Which versions do you think would better support our beliefs and policies?

In the Beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth. Genesis 1.1. This scripture is the first verse of the Bible for a reason. It lays the foundation for the absolute truth found in God's Holy WORD, the Bible.

Only one version? Let the Holy Spirit speak through us as to which parts of which versions are divinely inspired!

Perhaps you could give an example of a scripture from another version that supports our beliefs and policies better than the same scripture in the AV 1611.

              Thanks!

Many critics still cite the notorious monkey studies of Dr. Robert G. Heath, which purported to find brain damage in three monkeys that had been heavily dosed with cannabis.(9) This work was never replicated and has since been discredited by a pair of better controlled, much larger monkey studies, one by Dr. William Slikker of the National Center for Toxicological Research(10) and the other by Charles Rebert and Gordon Pryor of SRI International.(11) Neither found any evidence of physical alteration in the brains of monkeys exposed to daily doses of pot for up to a year. Human studies of heavy users in Jamaica and Costa Rica found no evidence of abnormalities in brain physiology.(12) Even though there is no evidence that pot causes permanent brain damage, users should be aware that persistent deficits in short-term memory have been noted in chronic, heavy marijuana smokers after 6 to 12 weeks of abstinence.(13) It is worth noting that other drugs, including alcohol, are known to cause brain damage.

The effects of marijuana on the brain can be debated ad nauseum, but the fact remains that it is illegal to grow, distribute, or possess the substance. Jesus commanded us to obey civil law. So if you are involved in any way with the trafficking or use of marijuana, you are indeed committing a sin.
