Recently the Freehold general hospital had a case where their MRI wasn't large enough to handle the sizable girth of local resident M_____ T____. The hospital didn't know of any MRI in the area that could handle a person her size, so she was referred to the Landover Zoo, an institution with the latest veterinary equipment.
"I'm not as big as an Elephant, but the equipment works just the same" the patient remarked before the procedure.
The chief Rad-tech expained: “It depends on how they are built a lot of times and what part of their body we’re scanning,” said technician Sylvie Minott of Medical Imaging. “(The machine) can only be so open before the magnetic field dissipates into the room.”
The procedure was a success, and Mrs. M___ T___ was treated with visits from some of the Zoo's friendlier residents.
We go out of our way, and being able to support a venerable institution such as Freehold General was really an honor. I don't think we'll advertise this procedure, but, I'm sure word will get around. It always does.
