  • How to Teach the Bible in Public Schools

I was doing my regular tour of our public schools in Freehold recently when an elementary school principal asked me how the Bible should be taught in Freehold. I was a bit taken aback because I had given the person in charge of all schools explicit orders on this topic and thought he had passed it on to every principal and teacher. Sometimes you have to just do things yourself.

I explained to the principal we are a public school so students must be given the choice of which religion they follow. However, children need be told the Bible is the word of God and if not followed death will bring an eternity in fire. We do occasionally have students whose parents have just moved into the school district and are not Christian. Fortunately, these parents quickly move elsewhere.

What should public schoolchildren learn about the Bible?

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

Brother Mayor, one of my concerns is that those in charge of teaching the Bible in public schools are going to water it down. Let's face it--we all know how desperate some people are to be liked-- and we know that there are messages in the Bible that contemporary communities will not like hearing.

How will Texas school teachers be able to teach about Noah's sons and their key role in determining which race should be in charge and which race should be subservient when we have integrated classrooms and elected officials who are members of the subservient race? I fear that the Bible "lessons" in public schools are going to result in a lot of fluffy bunny, kumbaya "Christians".
His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.

I share your concerns, Sister Handmaiden. There is home schooling and there are private Church-sponsored schools. Any of these, including public schools like Freehold, can allow woke to creep in. In Freehold, the Mayor and its only church, Landover Baptist, constantly watch for invasion by woke liberals. It is imperative to watch every administration and every teacher at all times.

I am certain no school day in Freehold has ever started with, "Good morning students. Today we are going to learn about evolution."
