I watched the series movies The Lord of the Rings!

So for about the 10th time ever, I watched all 3 LOTR movies in sequence. Since they were written by a devout Catholic man (JRR Tolkein), and then produced into movies, I imagine Hell now await's my soul's company?

Please explain all of the reasons why I would go to Hell for watching such a blasphemistic movie too, I'm very interested in what you have to say.

Blasphemistic? I do not know this word.

You don't really think that you're going to hell because you watched some stupid dwarf movie, do you? I'm sure you've done worse things in your life. Tell us about them.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Re: I watched the series movies The Lord of the Rings!

Blasphemistic was not caught by Google Chrome as a spelling error, haha. Well let's see. Please don't bash me because I'm actually trying to be more involved with God, but not as extremely as some of you seem to be, and I'm not saying the way you live and think is wrong, but I believe you can get to heaven by being a person with good morals and learning from the teachings in the bible.

Let's see, I'm 16 years old, I go to church every once in a while, it's a Baptist church also, I want to start going a bit more often so I may start going Sunday and Wednesday nights for youth group. I don't hate Jews, because I personally don't have a say in anyone else's but my own religion (I know I'm gonna get a ton of bashing for that), I like tattoos but don't have any, I listen to music with explicit lyrics sometimes, I like watching TV and playing video games (yes, violent ones too) with my friends, but I don't ever actually consider hurting someone in the sake of videogames. I like to ride a longboard skateboard, I drive a Ford, I enjoy playing guitar and building computers. I am taking a Web Design course in school, I am in honors and AP classes for the most part. I enjoy looking at and shooting guns, but only for target practice, I don't have a problem with interracial relationships, even though I don't partake in one. I am a virgin, but I do pleasure myself sometimes (kind of awkward to say on the internet to a group of people such as yourselves), I like science fiction, and fantasy novels, but do not believe in mystical and fictional works (such as LOTR, I think it was a great series, and very enjoyable, actually a lot of characters represent biblical figures if you think about it. It's a Good vs. Evil plot). I also like to watch suggestive movies. I used to play in a band with some friends from school, I quit a few years back. I hang posters from my walls, but I'm looking into getting some portraits, it's always been my dream to live in NYC for a few years, I am a Republican / Conservative supporter for the most part, and I watch FOX news. I don't like Sean Hannity or Glenn Beck too much, I didn't care for GWB either. I want to go to college to major in Computer Science, some of my favorite movies are The Lord of the Rings, Sin City, Watchmen, Dark Knight, and other works too long to list. I work at Food Lion as a front end service associate, I have a Coca Cola collection sitting on top of my desk, I like the smell of good colognes, I really like this girl I've been talking to for over a year, and plan to ask her to be my girlfriend when she comes back from her Summer visit to Texas. I never talk rudely towards her, and don't say perverted things, I don't plan on doing anything too drastic with her until we have been together for a long time, I like going to Disney (I'm going there this weekend), I do curse around friends but never to adults. I mind my manners when alone in public places. I pray to God and Jesus every night before I go to sleep, I save 1/2 of my money and use the other 1/2 for spending on myself and others. I have a 7 year old brother, soon to be 8 who I love very much. I live with my biological mother and father, and my mother's parents. Sometimes I get very festered with them, but I always love them. I don't like people who often talk about sex, drugs, drinking, or killing. I personally don't drink or do drugs, the most I've ever done is smoke a cigar with my dad and have 3/4 of a beer with my parents. I will take sips of wine and alcohol on occasion just to taste. I don't go to drunken parties, I wear band tee shirts, hoodies, and jeans. I enjoy watching professional skateboarding, and BMX. I don't like most sports such as Football, Soccer, Nascar, and the like. I like adult comedy cartoons that air late at night, my favorite actor is Tom Hanks.

Of course I sin sometimes, and I don't know anyone who doesn't. I know for a fact I'm nowhere near what you guys might expect of me, and I understand that. I want to be my own person, but still abide by what I think is right and that God would stand for.

        Anything else?

I can see that it's going to take a lot of help to straighten you out, boy. I'm going to have to have a talk with your parents. They shouldn't be pushing drugs on you if you're really only 16.

Also, how do you think your skateboard friends are going to react when they find out you're in love with LOTR?
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Haha, they aren't pushing anything on me. They let me try wine and beer, but not more than a sip. I've only once had a drink. My parents know everything about my life, and so do all of my other relatives. I have no secrets from them, and we talk all the time.

Okay listen, I don't know where people are pulling out that I've done drugs? I took a puff of a cigar once, and I thought it tasted good, but I serve so many people tobacco at Food Lion and they are definitely not the kind of people I want to be like when I grow up. I've never done illegal drugs either.

Also, I don't have "skateboard" friends, I have friend friends. I have a plethora of different personalities in my "clique" I guess you could call it. Some are into sports, some are into music, some are into nature, some technology, everything. Plus many people love LOTR, I know I don't go around roleplaying all the time, and it's one of my favorite movies. We've watched it together!

This is what my infraction says:

Admit you drug addiction, get some help and move on. Only Satan laughs at your denials of drug abuse.
I DO NOT HAVE AN ADDICTION. I don't see why this is called the Christian Help Forum if people can't talk about their lives and ask for advice to better themselves. Instead I'm just taking a bunch of heat from people that are distorting my words and taking me out of context. I truly am a 16 year old, and I can post pictures to prove it if needed. Why are you just flaming me as opposed to actually trying to help?

                  I don't even know why.

I'm trying to determine what you're really saying with your calls for help. You haven't really asked for help. All you have done is list a bunch of things but haven't made any effort to show how you are correcting them.

What kind of help is it that you want?
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

All I'm asking for, and the only reason I signed up for this forum in the first place is to get help. To be honest, I don't read the bible, I know very little about the scriptures, my dad reads the bible all the time before he goes to bed. I am going to start soon, and I just wanted to see which of these activities are considered unholy as far as today's terms, not terms used in biblical times. Times change. I'm not going to let you judge me and tell me I'm doing something "wrong", you can say I may need to reconsider some things, but Jesus is the only one who will truly judge me.

I think you should be paying more attention to your father and spend some time reading the Bible and also go to Church. That's the reason you have allowed these influences into your life. Once you get right with Jesus you will lose interest in the things that are brought by the devil to tempt you. You don't just start by making a list of things to cut out of your life as if Christianity were some kind of diet.

See, that there was a perfect example of actual help. Thank you.

I would like to change things, yes. I think I will start going to church on Sundays and visiting on Wednesday. I am going to start getting into clubs at school. I plan on trying out Beta Club (Charity and Volunteer Work), DECA (Business), and Teenage Republicans when it starts back up. I want to cut out the whole "touching" business too, as I feel guilty when I do it.

Is there a feeling that overwhelms you when you finally accept Jesus? How do I know when I have been "saved"? I have talked to many church going friends and some of them have felt an overwhelming force once they truly accepted Christ, while others still pray and worship him regularly and don't ever feel anything physically overwhelming. I'm just trying to comprehend what I am looking out for. Like I said I pray to God and Jesus every night, but I never get a feeling of awe.

Does anyone have any personal stories about this?

Everyone feels differently. Just because you don't feel anything is not a reason to stop trying.

Okay, yeah I keep trying every day, I'm trying to improve upon things and I am just trying to fully accept him. I would rather it happen on any ordinary day rather than take a bad incident with a friend or family to spark it. I wouldn't want to only know Christ the last few minutes before I died either, I want to build a relationship with him that will last for years to come.
