    How to dress properly for a job interview?

    As some of you might know I’m applying for an au-pair job in a good Christian home

    I’ve read several articles about how important first impressions are; therefore I’m well aware that dressing up like a rebellious or liberal teen might ruin my chances of getting my first real job

    So what have the King James Version of the Holy Bible have to say about this matter?

    Deuteronomy 22:11: “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God”

    I think this confirms what was already obvious; God hates women that dresses up like this:




    Timothy 2:9-10: “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works” Again. It’s no surprise that Lady Gaga is going straight to Hell





    Enough with what NOT to wear. Will it be okay for me to wear my favorite dress or should I go for something more conservative?


    Personally I think it states that I’m a young open minded and cool girl that plays the ukulele and like to experiment with alternative pies in the kitchen, but on the other hand; is there a risk that it might send the wrong signals to Mr. Kristoffersen?

    That is a very pretty dress Michelle.

    But of what fibers is it made?

    Remember you can not mix fibers at all.

      I think it is wonderful dress and pretty also. Mr. Kristoffersen should be happy to see you if came dressed in that. Sometimes a simple hat can make you look conservative. If you are going to wear make up, do not put to much on.

        Thank you for your kind words. How can I possibly go wrong with help from true Christian Ladies?

        I know great cotton by instinct when I see it, Sister Charli and you can rest assured that the dress is made from 100% fine old American cotton

        However, I’m not quite sure what you mean by “Conservative hat”, Lisa. Don’t you think something like this would be a little bit over the top?

          Now remember Miss Michelle, that although appearance and dress code are important, vanity is a big no no. It is not what is on the outside but what is on the inside that Mr Kristoffersen will be looking for in an au pair.

            I think that hat would be not be very suitable.

            You could try something like this style



            or maybe this style, but I think it might be a bit to flashy



            This one looks nice


            You will have to make sure the color matches the dress.

              As a businessman, and having hired tens of thousands of people, I can tell you that first impressions are very important.
              Now keep in mind that your attire should not only reflect your conservative morals but should also reflect the position you are applying for.
              If I am interviewing for an executive position I expect the man to be dressed in a suit. If I am looking for a man to hold down the position of say garbage collector, a suit is not required, jeans and a tee shirt are acceptable. That being said may I suggest this little number for the job Michelle is applying for, it will give Mr. Kristoffersen a better idea of what he can expect on a day to day basis.

                My dear little ignorant Michelle

                I'm not a evil dictator, so I will not tell you what exactly you need to wear for the job interview, but when a good Christian man like Mr. Dewitt shows you a picture of an outfit which would be appropriate for the occasion, I think you should listen very very carefully.
                To be honest I think your chances of getting the job will improve quite a bit, if you turn up in that dress, because it perfectly reflects the kind of work I had in mind for you.

                  It’s great to hear a qualified opinion from a successful True Christian businessman

                  I assume you are trying to say that you would prefer a darker color for an interview of this kind

                  The thing is just that the only dark dress I have is this and I think it will suit the hats that Lisa suggested quite bad

                          The choices of what women wear, and why they choose to wear it, have always been confusing to me. So, if my advice is "off base," you can just ignore it.

                          If Brother Kristoffersen is unaware that you're a coon, perhaps your choice of clothing will help in maintaining the subterfuge. And here I'm thinking the darker the outfit, the better it will help in making your skin look lighter. For a spade, you have pretty light-colored skin, and I'd think it would help if you try to lighten it up even more.

                          So, I guess I'm recommending something in as deep a black color as you can find.
