While most of my family is very God-fearing, my sister, who is two years older than I am, has always been something of a rebel. She usually followed us to the Sunday sermons, but I feel that she is not reading the Bible well enough, and not listening enough to Jesus' advice.
The other day, I heard strange sounds past 12 at night - I had a very late day of Bible-study - and I believe they came from my sister's room, sounds of moaning. At first I shrugged.
But the next day, while passing the bathroom while she was showering, I heard the same moaning sounds from the bathroom.
This was a few days after our pastor had given a long sermons on exactly which practices - including masturbation - were unacceptable, and he had been very detailed in order to make sure that no one misunderstood. I believe my sister may had intentionally rebelled against God and masturbated. This practice is clearly forbidden by the Scriptures:
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
I am unsure how to deal with this. I certainly must guide my sister away from this sinful behaviour, as I believe she is still worthy of salvation. But I do not know how to confront her. If I simply accuse her of the act, I am sure that she will deny it. Should I perhaps install a camera in her bedroom, or in the bathroom, in order to have evidence to confront her with? Or should I simply subtly read chosen verses from the KJV?
