i don't see any real problem with you finding a job. If you need to make a living to support your family then God will understand that. I'm pretty positive God would not make a big deal out of you working at a department store

You need to read the Bible more. The Bible only mentions women working as farmers, seamstresses, homemakers, tentmakers, and sellers of purple (although to be fair there is one other notable thing women do for money in the Bible, but that is outright prohibited by God). God lets us know he won't permit wearing mixed fabric clothing, what makes you think He would be lenient with what jobs women work?

Well, if you only want to do a job that's "only for women", then I guess you could be a nanny or something similar. It would give you experience in caring for children and, if the family is "unsaved" you could help get them saved.

Thank you Scarlet Lady, that is some excellent advice I didn't expect to come out of your mouth.

Tell me, have you considered a new line of work? I once worked in the same field as you and I know the pay is OK, but the benefits are horrible! Wouldn't you like to get a job that comes with a "Doesn't automatically send the employee to Hell" plan? Not to mention you will feel so much better about yourself!

I apologize for my advances. I am recovering from a lost love. Betty and I were to be Wed this spring but Pastor Deacon Fred convinced her that I was only pretending to be a Christian in order to win her love :-(
