  • Is This Song Okay to Listen To?

I thought it would be okay to listen to, [the whole song is about the human race realizing how horrible and sunful they really are and calling upon the Holy Spirit (Sanctus Espiritus) so I really did think it was okay to listen to] but I wasn't sure...
It has loud guitar and drums in it too, like those dreadful, satanic 'goth' bands, so that had me worried.

Sanctus Espiritus! redeem us from our solemn hour
Sanctus Espiritus! insanity is all around us

    Sanctus Espiritus!
    Sanctus Espiritus!
    Sanctus Espiritus!

    In my darkest hours
    I could not foresee
That the tide could turn so fast to this degree
    Can't believe my eyes
How can you be so blind?
Is the heart of stone, no empathy inside?

Time keeps on slipping away and we haven't learned
So in the end now what have we gained?

Sanctus Espiritus, redeem us from our solemn hour
Sanctus Espiritus, insanity is all around us
Sanctus Espiritus, is this what we deserve?
Can we break free from chains of never-ending agony?

    Are they themselves to blame
    The misery, the pain?
    Didn't we let go?
    Allowed it,let it grow
    If we can't restrain
    The beast which dwells inside
It will find it`s way somehow, somewhere in time

Will we remember all of the suffering
`Cause if we fail it will be in vain

Sanctus Espiritus, redeem us from our solemn hour
Sanctus Espiritus, insanity is all around us
Sanctus Espiritus, is this what we deserve?
Can we break free from chains of never-ending agony?

    Sanctus Espiritus!
    Sanctus Espiritus!

Sanctus Espiritus, redeem us from our solemn hour
Sanctus Espiritus, insanity is all around us
Sanctus Espiritus, is this what we deserve?
Can we break free from chains of never-ending agony? (ending agony!)

Sanctus Espiritus, redeem us from our solemn hour (solemn hour!)
Sanctus Espiritus, insanity is all around us (all around us!)
Sanctus Espiritus, is this what we deserve?
Can we break free from chains of never-ending agony?

Let's worry less about the song and more about your relationship with Jesus Christ, the risen Lord, whose birthday we soon celebrate. Have you accepted Him as your personal savior? (That's a 'yes' or 'no' question.)

Yes, of course I've accepted Jesus, as I would assume everyone on this site has!

That would be an incorrect assumption. Our Godly forum is regularly infested with some of the worst unsaved scum on the planet. We cannot be too careful.

Would you mind sharing your bonafides with us? Denomination? Favorite scriptures? Tithing level?

All that latin you were tossing about makes me wonder if you aren't a damned mary worshiper...

Or slightly worse: a serial killer according to Wiccanpedia
          Psalm 81:10:
I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt:
open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

It is not a sin to listen to this song but it is a waste of your time and an unworthy diminishing of your God given auditory capacities. The lyrics are the typical tripe associated with post-pubescent psuedo-intellectual nancy boys from Scandinavia and the production itself is a series of worn out cliches best left for Stryper cover bands looking to play on the Arkansas/Iowa Fundiebikerbar circuit.

There are lots of great song out there played and written by good Catholic boys and I would be glad to offer my considerable expertise in this area.

Re: Is This Song Okay to Listen To?

I'm not Catholic; I go to church at Christian Fellowship Church every Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday evening.
I tithe ten percent of what I earn, which is currently twenty dollars a week as allowance for doing work around the house.
And as to my favorite part of the Bible, I have no idea. It's not that I don't read it, it's that everytime I think I've found a favorite verse I find one that seems somehow more meaningful to me.

And the Latin was just quoting the song.
I am trying to learn it, along with Chinese (which dad is teaching me. My dad was in the army and stationed in Taiwan, so he had to learn the Mandarin dialect. He brought many people to the Jesus while he was there, praise the Lord!)

You'd be better off memorizing the Holy KJV Bible and ignoring that jap "langauge" as they like to call it.

How old are you anyway boy? I had the OT committed to memory by the age of 7.

What do drums have to do with anything Evil?

Wasn't one of the gifts that Jesus received a drum?

Chinese isn't Japenese, though the written laguages are very similar. The Mandarin dialect is complex and can be hard for some people to learn, but it's really quite a beautiful language. And if i do learn it, it means that I can tell even more people about Christ.

Ah, beg your pardon, Pastor, but I'm a girl, not a boy. I'm sorry if I did something to confuse that issue. I am currently fifteen years of age, and will turn sixteen soon. I am still working on memorizing the Bible, but I do ddevote at least an hour a day to reading it, usually after I've finished my homework.

Learning a new language is hardly a prerequisite to missionary work. If the people of nowhere China can't understand the Bible in the language God wrote it in that's their problem- not ours. It's the responsibility of everyone living outside of the United States to learn how to speak American.

Sir? Pardon me for saying so, but the original Bible wasn't in English.
And whether or not it's my problem, I would like to be able to bring non-English speakers to Christ. That isn't wrong, is it?

English. You speak English. American isn't a language. I'm British and even I know you speak English. American's were originally British. You came from us. You fail.

I wasn't going to say anything about that, but since somebody else did...
                              yeah. American isn't a language.
Unless you count the very odd slang as a language other than English (which I almost do. Can't understand a word of what most other teenagers are saying.)
