Re: JennyD needs a husband! Suggestions?
How IS your endowment, Brother Hatchett? Will there be enough for that chair you wanted at LBU?
And how's that heart condition coming along?
Sister, I realize you're rather jealous of my trim figure -- how many months along are you now? Seven, eight? Oh, only three? -- but that is no cause to go making insinuations that my diet means anything other than a healthy respect for the body the Good Lord gave me.Originally posted by Sister Mary Maria View PostIt seems like Sister Jenny is still carrying some bad habits from time she spent working for unsaved trash hippies (she eats MULTIGRAIN bread!!!!), so she needs the strong guiding hand of a Godly True Christian™ man to guide her.
There are still plenty of good single men in Freehold and surrounding area, so if anyone has anyone they could suggest and why, now seems to be as good as any time to hear. Besides, she's not getting any younger and it would be nice to see her saved in childbearing.
Perhaps if you cut back so you were eating for two instead of six, you'd not be packing on quite so many "baby pounds".

My wife is very ill. If the old shrew takes a dirt nap, I suppose I could give Jenny the privilege of being my wife.

Hatchet might be willing to help you ladies out. He is the Pillar of Compassion and rumor has it he is quite well endowed in certain areas.

Dr. Zaius might still be available. He still has all his hair and he has a good sense of humor.Originally posted by Mistress Cookie View PostWe should be narrowing our search to doctors, lawyers, pastors...a veterinarian at the very least.

Thanks.Originally posted by Sister Mary Maria View PostI will change the thread title back, but expect to see your own thread if things don't pick up soon.
Gosh, I have so many private messages now from members I've never even heard of!
Maybe I should forward them to Jenny, or give them her number?

EDIT: Dear Sister MM: Thank you for your kind gesture but my mailbox just got flooded and filled with emails from male members who are not even on my Friends list, and there is a backlog! I would hate for a pastor or church worker to try to PM me and get their message bounced back, so please please change that thread title back? I would appreciate it.

Thank goodness I cannot be accused of this transgression!Originally posted by Sister Mary Maria View Post5:13 And withal they learn to be idle...and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies
I have an idea: What if we make the dress, below, for Jenny (the one on the right, of course), and replace whatever that pagan fertility symbol is on the bodice with a large "U", for Unmarried?
It would be a good conversation started / "ice breaker" for her as she goes about her days, and remind all who see her that she's on the lookout for a good suitor?

That's not a concern as we shall have a day nanny and a night nanny.Originally posted by Mistress Cookie View PostOf course you're right, as always. Keep in mind, though, that Sister Jenny is a skilled governess and if get her married off, she may be so busy watching over her own brood that you may not be able to call upon her services if you need someone to watch your own expected babe.
Oh, that's right. I forgot you're a young widow...Thank you for looking to insure my well-being, Sister. Alas, the probate courts are still processing the estate of the late Reverend Daryl, and until such time as that is settled, my marrying again would be fraught with complications. The last thing I would want to trouble a True Christian™ husband with would be my little legal troubles.
1 Timothy 5:9 Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man.
5:10 Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.
5:11 But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;
5:12 Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.
5:13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.
5:14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
5:15 For some are already turned aside after Satan.
5:16 If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.
I don't think it could be any more clear than that. We need to get you married and fast!
Edit: I just updated the name of this thread.

Re: JennyD needs a husband! Suggestions?
You are recently Saved, so it's understandable that there is still a touch of feminazi in your thinking. Once married, The Monthly Visitor and Don't Drip Inn will both become the property of Jenny's husband. As for her working, if he allows it that will be okay but few True Christian(tm) men are so modern and liberal that they accept their wife taking a job that could be going to a man. One thing he doesn't have to do is being okay with a wife who works. He is the head of her so she will have to be okay with whatever he decides.Originally posted by Mistress Cookie View PostI think she also spends at least 3 hours a day studying the Book, so it has to be someone who's okay with "alone time", as well.
PLUS, she runs The Monthy Visitor guest house, and that offshoot on the highway, so they have to be okay with having a wife that works, as well.

I think the marriage will be doomed for friction if it isn't someone as devout and learned as herself. We should be narrowing our search to doctors, lawyers, pastors...a veterinarian at the very least.

A tall order. Nothing against Jenny, but this MAY be an example as to how education can impede a woman's chances for happy and Godly union, as the Good Lord intended.

Ooooh! I forgot about Deaner!
I was thinking about Mr. Stanley Perkins who owns that garage off Indian Massacre Road. Sure, he only has half his teeth and is nearing retirement age, but he's a Silver Tither thanks to all the high end automobiles in Freehold and is a good True Christian(tm) gentleman.

Maybe someone like Deaner would be a good suitor?
Maybe he'd be able to slap some sense into her silly young(ish) head?
I know she admires a good Mullet when she sees one
