before I start I would like to make some initial statements. I suggest you read my whole post, and anything i ask you to read (get your bibles out) before making any kind of comment back, also note that I am in no way slandering you and am being respect, I only ask the same in return.

First, I am going to start by assuming that any and all of you are set in your ideas and anything I say will not move you.

Second, I'd like to state that i created an account specifically to reply to this thread, as the opinions held by this church so disturb me.

Third, I agree with the original post that Women should be cared for and cherished, but not just women, all humans created by God.

Finally I am going to state that I am a disciple of Christ, I truly believe in God, Christ, and all he has done for us. I consider myself as a member of the whole church of Christ, I do not limit myself and my association to one denomination, and I live my life to live as Christ did, spreading God's Love to all the peoples.

And that's just It, Love is the Key, God himself is Love, Christ sacrificing himself is Love, and Love is how we should treat our lives.

this is what love is (if you need to understand better read "love" instead of charity). And i cannot, in any way, see striking a woman as an act of "love." how can causing physical pain, or any pain, be loving? doesnt Sin produce enough pain in this world? why do you wish to add to it?

Next read Ephessians 5:25-29

my bible says "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her."(5:25) How did Christ show his love for the church? he died for it, to save it. Are any of you willing to die for your wife? If you are responsible for her sins and her actions, and you feel it is your right to punish her, where do you take your own responsabilty? If you stike her, you ought to strike yourself. after all it is half your fault isnt it?

Christ Cherised the church, and gave everything for it up to and including his life. As husbands it is our duty, our responsabilty, our command, to do the same for our wives. to be willing to give everything for her, to cherish every inch of her, treat her with carefulness, to see to her happiness.

would you honestly love this god if you didnt fear it?! of course you'l say yes. 100% because you fear eternal damnation.

maybe a bit of liberated thinking would do nicely here.....
