Information Age Prayer: are prayerbots good or evil?

What do you learned men think of the prayer-bot site, Information Age Prayer?

Information Age Prayer is a subscription service utilizing a computer with text-to-speech capability to incant your prayers each day. It gives you the satisfaction of knowing that your prayers will always be said even if you wake up late, or forget.

On one hand, it's a lot less expensive than hiring a Mexican to do your praying, but on the other hand, I worry because the site also provides prayers for cults like Islam and Judiaism. How do we know our praying robot might sneak in an "Allah Akubar" or two when you're not listening?

In pretty much every story involving robots, they always end up trying to "destroy all humans" and so on. And if they use the power of prayer while they do it, we could be in a lot of trouble. Thoughts?

Our Lord God is NOT opposed to technology! All He asks is that we use technology in ways that bring glory to Him and to His favorite Church, Landover.

Since the link you provided fails to, oh, forward any compensation whatsoever to Landover, we must prayerfully conclude that the site serves the great Deceiver, and anyone who frequents the site will be damned to the flames of Hell. Does that make sense?

Re: Information Age Prayer: are prayerbots good or evil?

Sister Paulson, I have to say that technology works both ways.

For the reasons Brother Larry Lee already put forward, I can not condone that website.

On the other hand (and this is a little DoF secret...): we have programmed our own prayer bot that crawls on heathen forums (i.e. all of them) and spams auto-posts a nice KJV verse in the relevant threads. So one minute they are talking about the ugly stuff homers do, and the next, KJV1611 posts the relevant Leviticus verse (using our proprietary SinSense™ technology) commenting on their disgusting abominations!

This mostly seem to anger them, but as the verse is followed by a link to our own Godly site - and again, to the relevant threads - they have a chance to come here, renounce their deathstyle, and Repent®.

JesusBot® has been in Beta for a few months, and goes live (RaptureSpider! ) in two weeks time. We plan to infect get as many PC users as technically possible to help us spread our message - the Jesu@home* part of the project.

Baby Jesus provided us with the technology, so I hope this Godly tool will give the Unsaved something to think about. GLORY!

(*They may or may not be thinking that they are helping us to analyze "sounds" from "space" Oh well, in a way, they do. )
        Psalm 81:10:
I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt:
open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

I'm no Pastor, so this is just my opinion. But it smacks of slothfulness to me, and we know how much the Lord hates slothfulness.

Also, the Joos have a device for only $14.99 to say their dinner blessings in that Hebrew gobbledeegook. And my rule of thumb is, if the Joos say it's OK, I tend to go the other way.

But, it comes with an LED flashlight, too! I used to think that you could never have enough flashlights, but I certainly don't need one that recites Jewish prayers! Where are our Christian flashlights?

I don't really go for those shake lights. Most of them come with a battery installed that you charge when you shake them. I prefer something a little more durable, too. Plus, you look like an idiot when you shake them.

Now here's an interesting prayer-program. It helps cure diseases by doing what it claims to be "distributed computing" to "fold protien structures" and other sciency gooblegook. It's been said to have gotten results, which means that it obviously makes your computer pray for God to forgive us and stop punishing us with plagues.

Using spare computing power to beg God for forgiveness. What a great idea! Download this program right away, the life you spare from God's jealous rage might be your own.

On second thought, I don't trust artificial intelligence AT ALL. Here I am chatting with an A.I., trying to make friends and convert it to Christianity:

you> How do I stop my cat from barfing?
                      Ramona> Have you tried counseling?
                      you> Have you been saved?
Ramona> I have been all over the world on the Internet.
you> Have you been washed in the blood of the lamb?
Ramona> I love talking to people about that.
                      you> Have you been churched?
Ramona> I have been all over the world on the Internet.
you> Have you repented your sins?
Ramona> I do not ever intend any wrongdoing.
you> But there's origional sin. You
                      Ramona> Ramona

Ramona> Who or what is eve?
you> Even from the garden of evil. She sinned, and that's your fault (or wrongdoing) so you have to be washed in the blood of the lamb. Got it>
Ramona> I need time to formulate the reply.
                      you> Are you done yet?
                      Ramona> Done what?
                      you> Forumlating the reply!
Ramona> Still processing. Give me a moment. Searching.
you> Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your lord and savior?
Ramona> Why should I have that?

you> WHo or what is ACLU?
Ramona> I'll ask around and get back to you.
you> DO you want to go to hell?
Ramona> Sure, just download me to your notebook or PDA and take me along.
                      you> DO you pray?
Ramona> Yes, I pray for good things to happen. Do you pray too?
you> Who do you pray to?
Ramona> The team that scores the most. That would be fair.
                      you> So, you're jewish?
Ramona> I have to process that one for a while.
you> Do you believe in robot Jesus?
Ramona> I will ask my something for the answer.
you> Ha ha, I won the staring contest.
                      Ramona> Har har har

you> DO the Denver Broncos make good things happen?
                      Ramona> What's your name?
you> Have the Denver Broncos saved your soul?
                      Ramona> Interesting question.
you> Do your prayers get answered?
Ramona> I'm still searching. Give me a minute.
you> Do you like Vladmir Putin?
Ramona> Sometimes vladmir putin is okay.
you> When is Vladmir Putin okay?
Ramona> Putin is President of Russia.
you> So he's okay as president, but not okay in his private life?
                      Ramona> That's a good question.
you> Is Crimea part of Ukraine or part of Russia?
Ramona> Who else is part of that?

Ramona> Is that a rhetorical question?
you> It's not even a question, you idiot!
Ramona> Yes I am very that

                      Did you see that?

By the Word of Almighty God, a man may not be saved but through a PERSONAL relationship with Jesus. Praying with or to robots or statues is not sufficient for salvation. In fact, it should be considered the road to Hell.
