  • Do you know anyone who is going to Hell?

It seems like everyone is headed to Heaven and no one is going to Hell. Any time you talk to someone who has lost a loved one they're always in Heaven. They even say that their dogs are in doggy heaven, even though we know that it does not exist.

I've been to the funerals of some people that I'd be surprised to meet in Heaven. Some mean, selfish, and horrible people who have blasphemed against Jesus and even the Holy Ghost himself. Still, people talk about them being in Heaven, even though there is just no way.

I know for a fact that not everyone is going to heaven, but what do you say to people who have lost family members who were atheists? "It's OK, you'll see them in Heaven." That's just false comfort.

Can I get some input from the pastors about this? Should I just lie or bite my tongue when referring to the dead?
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Re: Do you know anyone who is going to Hell?

I often say, "I'm sorry for your loss, and even more deeply saddened that your <insert relationship> chose Hell instead of Jesus. Rather than spending eternity serving the Lord like you and me, he will instead be burned alive in God's Lake of Fire, from which the smoke of his torment will rise forever and ever. Here, have another tissue."

If only they repent they wouldnt go to hell. How tragic it is. Even Hitler repented on his death bed and is now in Heaven with Jesus, why cant normal people repent and go to Heven too?

The Lord works in mysterious ways...
Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. (Psalm 11:6)

Re: Do you know anyone who is going to Hell?

Brother Nobar, the God's honest truth is that most people are going to hell. God has promised this, and He never breaks His promises.

No one automatically gets to Heaven. Unless they are Saved(c) through Christ's Grace, washed clean of sin in His blood, then they have no chance of attaining eternal life in Heaven with Jesus. God is a killer. Jesus will return as a warrior. Look at the Book of Revelations and you'll find out that Jesus is going to come back as a killer. And don't you forget that. God will kill a third of the population, a third of the earth, just in one fell swoop! The rest are going to be lovingly sorted out on Judgment Day.

        Revelation 20:14-15
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Those who have never heard the Good News about Jesus are condemned to hellfire.

        2 Thessalonians 1:8-9
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction.
I advise that you tell the grieving relatives the truth as revealed by God any chance you get. Jesus doesn't want us to sugar-coat His Word. You don't do anyone any favors by pulling your punches.
        Who Will Jesus Damn?

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

So very true Pastor. Must of us walk through life in denial of our own mortality - we just don't think we'll ever die, or that it's so far off in the future as to have no bearing on our day-to-day life. It's not really real.

It's only in the brief moments after the loss of a loved one, when our grief is at its rawest, that we truly understand our own mortality. And how death can come at any time.

This is the best (and maybe only) time that many people can be reached and witnessed to. And that time is short, denial floods in within days, sometimes hours.

As you say, Pastor, we do nobody any favors if we don't take advantage of that short window so we can help them choose Salvation instead of the pit. The Truth™ may hurt, but it also heals. Praise God!

Warn the people who are still living that unless they repent, they will likewise perish. When people go to funerals, they have thoughts of mortality, heaven, hell, eternity, etc., on their minds. It's the perfect time to warn them of things to come. Is it mean, hateful, uncompassionate, etc.? I'm sure it is, according to your standards. However, according to my standards, it would be infinitely more mean, hateful, uncompassionate, etc., to keep my mouth shut and not warn you that you, too, will soon have to face God.
Good King Josiah "brake down the houses of the sodomites, that [were] by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove." II Kings 23:7. "And as Josiah turned himself, he spied the sepulchres that [were] there in the mount, and sent, and took the bones out of the sepulchres, and burned [them] upon the altar, and polluted it, according to the word of the LORD which the man of God proclaimed, who proclaimed these words." II Kings 23:16. After Josiah does these things, does God say "Josiah, how can you do such a thing? How can you be so hateful and disrespectful of the dead? What about the poor mourning families of these dead bones?" No! God says "And like unto him was there no king before him, that turned to the LORD with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there [any] like him." II Kings 23:25. God calls him the greatest king ever! What WBC does, in merely picketing funerals, is nothing compared to digging up the dead bodies and burning them!
Finally, Here is how much respect Jesus had for the funeral of an unrighteous man: "Jesus said unto him, let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God". Luke 9:60. Jesus commanded a man, whose father had just died, to NOT EVEN GO MOURN AT THE FUNERAL AND BURY HIM, but rather preach the kingdom of God. Hypocrites in this modern era, who think they are smarter than Christ, would open their mouths in amazement at Christ's lack of respect for a poor mourning man whose father had just died.

Many years ago my poor Pa passed on , he was killed when the still he was running blew up.He never once stepped a foot into a Church or excepted Jesus in to his life..
It makes me sad to know he went to hell, not because he made illegal liquor but because he did not accept Jesus as his Savior.I will never see him again.

Them Mormons like to tell you that after you are dead and buried they can baptise you , and you will get to go to Heaven. That has to be the biggest load of cow dung I have ever heard. When you die it is too late .You are going straight to Hell no ifs ands or butts,If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior while you were alive. If you were not baptised as a Christian ,its off to hell with you! You have to get right with the Lord while you are alive not after you are dead. There are no do overs in Salvation

                Amen Sister Lola!

I heard about this mormon baptism thing a few years ago. There was a big hullabaloo because they were baptizing holocaust victims. What joo would want to go to Christ, when they're quite happy sitting at the right hand of Satan raping muslims and nazis (the unsaved ones) all day long?

I think the joos are the only ones who enjoy Hell. No wonder the living ones were so upset with the mormons.

Edit to Add: I think the joos get to rape mormons in Hell too. Or it might be the other way round, not sure.

Hey here's an idea. Why don't you just not mention the fact that you want their dearly beloved to go to hell!? I mean if one of my friends or relatives died, and some Weirdo 'christian' told me they were going to hell, I'd kick their ass and tell them to f*** off!!! Then i would convert to Islam just to spite the nasty bastard. If you want to bring people to the church, don't tell them their dead relative is going to burn for eternity. It might put them off a bit.

I don't think you would do any of those things. You're just afraid because of all of the sinful things you have done and you don't want to go to hell, either. I think you're just a liar, all around.

At least we Christians call it like it is and don't sweeten the pie just to make YOU happy.

Oh i will go over this with my pastor. He will be very interested. In fact I may go up to the front of my church (Barnt Green Baptist Church, Worcestershire, England) and tell everyone about this god forsaken forum. See what they make of it. my father is baptist preacher, and now works with terminally ill children in a hospital, helping them and spreading the word of god. He will LOVE to come and chat with you guys and tell you his point of view.

Timmie, you don't even have enough respect to properly capitalize God's name! Do you take us for fools? If you're a Christian then my pit bull is a ballerina.

Also, to with hold the truthful information that a sinner in bound for hellfire unless they repent and ask Jesus to wash them clean with His Blood would be the most irresponsible, mean-spirited and unBiblical thing I can imagine. If you had a friend who was drunk, and he was about to jump in his car and drive somewhere, would you just stand by and let him? What kind of friend is that?

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness
The Bible commands those of us who are Saved© to rebuke (i.e., judge) sinners so that they can turn their lives over to God. If you disagree with God's Holy Commandments then you are spitting in His loving face. Just like you do every time you refuse to capitalize His name.

1 Tim 5:20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
