It seems like everyone is headed to Heaven and no one is going to Hell. Any time you talk to someone who has lost a loved one they're always in Heaven. They even say that their dogs are in doggy heaven, even though we know that it does not exist.
I've been to the funerals of some people that I'd be surprised to meet in Heaven. Some mean, selfish, and horrible people who have blasphemed against Jesus and even the Holy Ghost himself. Still, people talk about them being in Heaven, even though there is just no way.
I know for a fact that not everyone is going to heaven, but what do you say to people who have lost family members who were atheists? "It's OK, you'll see them in Heaven." That's just false comfort.
Can I get some input from the pastors about this? Should I just lie or bite my tongue when referring to the dead?
