I do think that's a normal behavior for a child,
pokémon used to be a very polular tv show and ofcourse as a child not understanding what's going on in church that must be more intresting.
But please dont tell that there are people who trully believe this is a reason for a melt down.
Im sure american culture also made tv shows or games that made children (and adults) rather stay home than go to church (let's give disney for an example, if u asked me at a young age if id rather watch a disneymovie than go to church i think i choose disney (maybe now still)).
So does this means that also america deserves this melt down and also the rest of the world?
And if god is so powerfull to make this thing happen in Japan, why isnt he powerfull enough to stop people making these cartoons??

I once fell into the traps of peer pressure
cartoons like pokemon, or games like the horrible ocarina of time took me away from the lords work 
I was in a pretend world where i captured demons and made them do what i wanted like a wretched harlot of lucifur himself - or even worse deluding myself into thinking i could control time!
There was a time when i was dragged into church by my god-fearing parents, against my will!!!! :O :O :O :O Instead i wanted to watch the new episode that horrible country had created and when i did go i CORRUPTED the lord's home by continuing to play the game in secret!
yet my parents struggled to free my from the devil's clutches, and with my father's help, and as 1 John 1:9 states so clearly: I AM SAVED IN HIS NAME!
PRAISE HIM! May He smite those who lead good Christians into temptation!
