  • They just didn't Pray hard enough.

The Lord saw fit to give a little girl some illness or other.
Due to her parents lack of faith, God killed the little girl.

    Well, Praise Jesus!!
This family are blessed with another Three children to finally get it right.
Maybe next time they will just Pray that little bit harder.

WESTON -- An 11-year-old girl died after her parents prayed for healing rather than seek medical help for a treatable form of diabetes, police said Tuesday.
Everest Metro Police Chief Dan Vergin said Madeline Neumann died Sunday.
"She got sicker and sicker until she was dead," he said.
Vergin said an autopsy determined the girl died from diabetic ketoacidosis, an ailment that left her with too little insulin in her body, and she had probably been ill for about 30 days, suffering symptoms like nausea, vomiting, excessive thirst, loss of appetite and weakness.
The girl's parents, Dale and Leilani Neumann, attributed the death to "apparently they didn't have enough faith," the police chief said.

They must not have been very righteous.

James 5:14-16 (emphasis added): Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Actually there was a scientific study that proved praying doesn't work. This quote is taken from The God Delusion (87).

Dr Benson and his team monitored 1,802 patients at six hospitals, all of whom received coronary bypass surgery. The patients were divided into three groups. Group 1 received prayers and didn't know it. Group 2 (the control group) received no prayers and didn't know it. Group 3 received prayers and did know it. The comparison between Groups 1 and 2 tests for the efficacy of intercessory prayer. Group 3 tests for possible psychosomatic effects of knowing that one is being prayed for....

...they (those who prayed) were all, accordingly, told to include in their prayers the phrase 'for a successful surgery with a quick, healthy recovery and no complications.'

The results, reported in the American Heart Journal of April 2006, were clear-cut. There was no difference between those patients who were prayed for and those who were not. What a suprise. There was a difference between those who knew they had been prayed for and those who did not know one way or the other; but it went in the wrong direction. Those who knew they had been the beneficiaries of prayer suffered significantly more complications than those who did not.
Clearly God doesn't answer our prayers because He doesn't want to.
I would like you to meet my imaginary friend, God.

Of course the study showed that. The Bible tells us repeatedly not to tempt the Lord our God.

Of course an atheist's book would quote that study without putting it into context . . . a typical atheist approach!

Your good Mr. Dawkins fails to mention that the "pray-ers" were not True Christians(tm).

If a group of Hindus prayed to Allah for help, do you think they'd get it? Of course not! (Not least because Allah is a false god, but you get the point.) Why, then, would you expect God to answer those who do not follow Him?

You, sir, are allowing Mr. Dawkins to lead you by the nose down a path of deceit and misinterpretation of study results. The study does not in any way suggest that the prayers of True Christians(tm) are of no effect; rather, it proves conclusively that God does not answer the prayers of nonbelievers!

Now, since we can scientifically prove that God does not answer the prayers of nonbelievers, is it not clear to you that God will also not allow those whose supplications He ignores into Heaven? GLORY! Proof that GOD HATES NONBELIEVERS and will CAST THEM INTO HELL!
