I knew Ray Miles. He was one of the men at the Topeka mission.
Just before this happend, i was telling him all about our Lord Jesus Christ, and how Jesus the Son was also God the Father, and was also The Holy Spirit. He had all sorts of questions too. Like, "Howe can God send us to Hell for eternity even if we only sinned for one small lifetime? What about babies? What about natives in africa who never heard of God?", etc etc. All those normal dumb questions the unbleivers try to trip us up with.
Then he axed (yes, "axed" that how he talks) how is it that if we have to go to hell forever to pay for our sins, that Jesus got off by only dying for like three days, even when he died for ALL our sins? Why isn't Jesus still in hell forever if he's paying for the worlds sins? Why doe WE have to burn forever while HE only had to endure this for a little while if he's supposedly paying the price of our sins? How is THAT fair? It's like a kid that's got a rich daddy getting the charges dropped while the rest of us have to do it the honest way.
I told him life's not fair and if he doesn't like it he should read and re-read KJV 1611 untill he does. (I guess i need a better answer to that question--anyone got one?)
So I got pretty mad at him for that and told him he was wasting my time. He then told ME, that *I* was wasting his time! I'm sorry, i said, but hearing about God is never a waste of time! He said, Screw you guys, i'm going home.
I laughed at him because he doesn't have a home!
Then I told him that maybe the VA will help him out back on his feet, if he'd only make an effort to assert himself a little.
Well it looked like an idea actually came across his face and then he looked a bit calmer and was smiling to himself.
I take comfort that i was the last person to talkt to him before he went berzerk, or else he might have done much worse I'm sure.
