Friends, you know I'm not a political person, but the LORD has put it on my heart to pray for those in North Dakota. You see, in a few days they have the opportunity to vote for the North Dakota Religious Freedom Initiative that is coming up. This law would protect the religious freedoms of True Christians™ to follow the letter of the Holy Bible without fear of legal persecution. The ballot reads in part:
[bolding mine]
I'm sure our own True Christian™ police force in Freehold would excuse a lady driving through a red light to get to church on time, but not every one is so blessed. However, this isn't about a pesky ticket or even a manslaughter charge should an unfortunate accident occur, this is about practicing the Christian Faith the way God Almighty Himself intends for us to practice it: Without condition, without reservation (Deuteronomy 10:12). Friends my heart is just so heavy for those who are burdened by legal persecutions from being able to practice their sincerely held faith. Having to treat homosexuals and shrimp eaters like normal people when the Holy Bible clearly tells us how God hates them is an emotional and religious burden no American should have to tolerate. How can one be truly free if one has to suppress what the Bible clearly commands them to do for fear of breaking the law?
I humbly ask you to join me in praying for our friends in North Dakota, that they would vote in such a way as to please our LORD.
Dear Jesus,
We just praise your Holy Name. We just know we can trust You Jesus because You are faithful. We just acknowledge your promise to be faithful, Heavenly Father. We just lift up our needs to you LORD and offer you these prayers for the faithful in North Dakota. Oh LORD, we just pray that Your Holy Ghost would work a mighty force in the state, and provide true religious freedoms for True Christians™. Jesus, we know that You can turn this country around and make it the land of the free once again. We just come to you in humility and obedience to ask you to compel those voters to vote for Religious Freedom for Your Glory.
In Jesus' Name we pray.
Government may not burden a person’s or religious organization’s religious liberty. The right to act or refuse to act in a manner motivated by a sincerely held religious belief may not be burdened unless the government proves it has a compelling governmental interest in infringing the specific act or refusal to act and has used the least restrictive means to further that interest. A burden includes indirect burdens such as withholding benefits, assessing penalties, or an exclusion from programs or access to facilities.
