For over two years, I have seen the colored man who sweeps the floors at a business near me go about his job in all kinds of weather. He arrives on time and rarely misses a day at work.
Realizing this is unusual for coloreds, I decided to give him a special blessing by recognizing this effort. I walked up to him and said, "The Lord bless you, brother. You people are always receiving criticism because of your innate savagery and lesser intelligence, but there are those of us who notice how different YOU are. I just wanted to say keep up the good work."
I then handed him a container of watermelon and a brand new King James Bible (not the kind with a family tree in the front, because I figured it would take him forever to figure it out). He became very rude, said he was a follower of Allah, and that I could place my watermelon - well, I won't say where he told me to place it. THIS is why God made us the way He made us. He knew that white people would be faithful to His image (as He intended).
I still held this man up in prayer last night. I called his boss a little while ago and informed him of the incident. The boss was very apologetic; the first words out of his mouth were "I'm sorry."
Well, his full statement was "I'm sorry that not everyone meets up to your expectations and perhaps it's best that you don't patronize my business or speak to my employees anymore." I think that was a thoughtful thing to say.
