After the love in, let's get back on topic. Just three simple Scriptures are enough here, no opinions or interpretations required. Every Christian knows all about sin, even more so for deliverance from sin revealing a ruined creation, lit in high relief by Christ.

Jonah 2:6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.

Christ is building His church as He promised in these last days——or for anyone not appreciating that, He is building His church anyway——and it's not the first time something has been rebuilt.

Nehemiah 4:17-18 They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon. For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me.

After the hell of papism blasted Europe and the Near East with idols on a scale putting even India to shame, Jesus knew there'd be something to rebuild. He also knew His words would be appreciated at the right time. Could that time be now?

Luke 22:35-37 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing. Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

Many things have been written about Jesus. Not all of them have happened yet. Although very much has been accomplished, Jesus has not killed all His opponents and does not yet rule the whole world. Sinners still exist. When the message was preached by Jonah, destruction was averted (even though he himself rebelled, temporarily) enabling lives to be rebuilt. And when Nehemiah recorded rebuilding in his day, weapons needed to be carried by the builders themselves rather than by a special "police" force. There had been one but it slowed the building down. As we enter the end times, lives again are being rebuilt, Christ is building His church and demons are everywhere. Triggered (demon possessed) maniacs will stop at nothing when they hear the message of Jesus as He well knew would happen and as he preempted with His Clear Commandment about weapons.

Should every True Christian™ now be required to carry a side arm? Sword? Crossbow? The Pastors will be able to advise here.
