Yet again, you don't get to cherry-pick only those Bible verses that you like. You have to read (not interpret) and follow the whole thing except insofar as Jesus has already fulfilled any particular part.

You could not be more wrong. God does not allow interpretations of the Bible we have to take it literally: Deuteronomy 4:2 "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you."

This is why I said "your husband or your father". It's a small word, "or", so you probably overlooked it, but it makes a real difference here. So if you didn't destroy someones life yet by making him your husband, just ask your father.

I chose to address the husband part of that because I do not have a father in my life. Not because I didn't see it written there.
