  • It's Friday! How do you enjoy it?

    Hello Brothers

I know this is not exactly Christian topic in religious sense, but I tought that we should have some light topics here too. So why report here that what are you doing that what would you do on friday, after hard week of working (if you don't work on saturdays)

Example I first came to forum to check any heathens and to smite them with word of God. Then we went to supermarket to buy some groceries, beer and some beef for me.

When we got home, I read Bible with my sons and then I did something that I'm not sure is Christian but I have explanation: we went to Sauna. Ok, you think than why would any white man want to go to a room having 100 degrees of celsius (212 fahrenheit), but I can tell you that after spending 20 minutes there, you really don't want to sin and got to Hell. I bet 5 minutes would be enough for most of the sinners. There must be something good in Finland, because they invented Sauna for educational purposes.

After sauna, we put the kids to the bed and I had my wife read me some psalm, she actually sometimes sings them, she got very nice voice, and massage my neck while I drank my beer. Then I drank some more beer and barbecued some beef. My wife was already sleeping when I finished the beef and 10th beer, so I went and tried to make new soldier or christ. Best time to do while your wife sleeps, she would not have any possibility to be possessed by satan and have a orgasm. Actually I wasn't feeling very well, so I didn't finnish that. Maybe God though that I had enough sons.

I had very pleasant friday even I didn't go to Estonia to pray with street girls - they really answer to your prayers sometime. Just what man needs, Bible, beer, beautiful bitch wife and bashing of heathens.

So how did your friday go?

My night was somewhat less exciting. The three boys and I watched the Pirates-Cubs game on the computer machine while my wife did laundry. The kids are all now asleep and I'm just writing some notes for the American English class I am set to teach next week in Uppsala. I was going to get a couple of beers for the game - but since we are currently in Sweden one apparently can't buy beer after 5PM.

Bill, I envy you. You are just so dutiful. Always Christ in mind. I have to admit, I like to sometimes just have some time for myself.

The shop is closed on Friday, so I spend the entire day preparing for the weekend and looking forward to church.

I usually like to wake up early, about 7:00 AM or so, and go to the kitchen where I eat the breakfast my wife has been busy preparing since before sunrise.

After that, I go out and pick up the morning paper, and then go to the living and decide which seat I should take: my favorite recliner, or the sofa?

I always note on the front page of the paper that it is indeed Friday, and that I won't have to go into the shop today. (I wouldn't want to be mistaken and accidentally close on a Thursday, which was yesterday.)

I have lots of fun on Friday, whether it's getting down in the driveway to work on my classic pickup truck, or simply looking forward to the weekend.

Thank you for your praise. As a missionary one has to be relentless, never give in and never give up. God's work is never done.

Trying to bring Jesus to the people of Scandinavia can be likened to trying to bring Dan Brown books to a used bookstore. They just don't want it and they say they've had enough already and nobody is interested anymore. As you can imagine it's rather tough when you have that to contend with.

I know the feeling. Even I'm half blood, they just don't listen to me. I do speak quite fluent Finnish and can drink Finnish beer, spend 30 minutes in Sauna, eat the thing they call sausage - more like grain product I would say, they still look at me funny way and reject Jesus. Thank God there is EU and lot's of foreign beers now. That really helps.

Re: It's Friday! How do you enjoy it?

I like to visit my elderly parents on Friday evenings and spend a little time with them. My mother prepares a little food and we talk about our week and other bits of family news. I confirm the usual arrangement, for me to pick them up and take them to church on Sunday morning. It is normaly a fairly quiet and predictable evening.

Tonight though, was slightly different, I took around my new girlfriend for the first time. I told her, "Now remember, my mother is very old, so speak nice and slow and very loud." Then I said to my perfectly capable mother, "By the way, my girlfriend is slightly retarded."

I do try hard to follow Jesus but I was born a sinner and it is not easy. I struggle harder than many people might suspect to live up to his example. I also know this evening was not a good moment and God will frown upon me. But if you had been there.....

Re: It's Friday! How do you enjoy it?

Every Friday night I take a group of nubile young True Christian(tm) men into the fleshpots of Des Moines. We visit the strip clubs and tittie bars in the seedy downtown area, and we bring a lot of money and a lot of Jesus with us and carry out our ministry to the working girls. We pay for a lap dance, and then bring the Holy Spirit into the picture. We get those girls on their knees in the center of our Men's Prayer Circle and we get some HOLY FIRE into the scene! We keep those girls gurgling and bobbing for Christ, mouth agape, all the True Christian(tm) Brothers shouting GLORY TO GOD! The girls take in the scalding hot SEED OF GOD into their very gullet! With GLEE! With a SMILE ON THEIR FACE!

Oh those girls love to see us coming, I can tell you! That's doing God's Work. That's using your tithes as Jesus commands! Shout GLORY!!
                    Who Will Jesus Damn?

Re: It's Friday! How do you enjoy it?

After a filling 4 PM dinner, I bring each child of mine (oldest first) into my office, one at a time and list each of their failures then punish accordingly. I finish up with my wife at about 9 PM on average. Then I have meeting with the field managers, a Courvoisier, a Cuban and off to bed with Jesus.
It is not at all uncommon for me to wake Saturday morning with a sore arm from spreading Gods Love(r).
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Why do you suppose God has cursed you with poverty? Are you gay?

I am poor by choice, because I love being a lumberjacker. I hate trees.
