Marvel Comics just switched everything around to fit their stories to make money. Entertaining? Yes. Historically/poetically accurate? Not in the least.

Marvel Comics just switched everything around to fit their stories to make money. Entertaining? Yes. Historically/poetically accurate? Not in the least.

My young, naiver, clean limbed, youthful young Nephew actually tried to tell me these comic books were written in the Bronze Age.

I explained to him how radiation had not been invented then (and even it it had by some genius of the time the decay rates would have been very different) but I had to take him to his parent to be punished for lying.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but, according to the Norse mythology, didn't Odin die as well, making a self-sacrifice - I vaguely remember reading something about him hanging from a tree like a ripe apple? Wouldn't that make him a weak god, according to your own definition?

Gilly, while to a lesser mind like yours, suffering the effects of the frigid north and being only slightly more capable that that of the negroids, it might seem like a large, muscular White male is God-like, all decent people in the US of A are built like your 'Thor'. For example if you go to Fire Island on your trip to visit Gods Favorite Country©, any place you go will be filled with strapping White males, all with prominent muscular development.
Now if you see God standing next to any person, you will realize He towers over them, the glow from His power, the shimmer from His flowing locks, the steely gaze of His crystalline eyes just overwhelming.
To make it simpler, imagine you an ant. You see a horsefly (Thor) You are impressed. Until an elephant steps on you. Just before his massive foot crushes you, making your bile and rectal juices spray from your orifices, the world goes dark. The doom of your insignificance is realized. That is what God is like.
