I always wondered about that. Do these people define summer as "the three weeks when it's not snowing?"

I don't know but in my area, we define those ten weeks that make up fall, winter and spring as "the time that is not summer".

I understand that the Finns and other Eskimos wear nothing but leathern outdoors attire at all times.

That is what I heard, Brother Alvin. It is one of very many reasons why I have never been to the Esquimaux territories.

It is my understanding that degeneracy is so complete in Norway, Denmark and Sweden that nudity is quite common. I believe that those Norwegian Christian people are conservatively dressed according to local standards. Undergarments? I'm not sure about that but was particularly concerned about the gurning accordionist, whatever he'd been eating/drinking doesn't seem to have a very good effect.

They were able to sing "on the note" though, which used to be a prerequisite for singers. Less so now.

Even in America, Christians face persecution from Democrats and other heathens bent on stamping out God's word. Here though, the abuse leans toward foul language, throwing dead cats and defacing churches. In some other countries, Christians face imprisonment or even death for being Christian. It is difficult under those conditions to come together and make a joyful noise that pleases God.


One of the more dangerous places to worship the Lord is godless Norway. Even in a place like that there may be found a few Christians and so it is in Norway. Some Christians there have found a unique method of worship and praise that has not led to their destruction. They have formed a Bluegrass Band.


They are very sly, these Norwegians. American Country Music has a large cult following in the Scandinavian countries and this band has achieved some measure of popularity. However, the Norwegians don't know these Christians are actually singing praise to the Lord because they sing in American and no one knows what they are saying! They maintain their disguise with some secular favorites, but they mainly play and sing about Jesus.


The name of this band of Christians is the Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra and they can sometimes be found on the YouTube.

Although I love my banjo, I love Jesus uncountable times more. When times get tough, Jesus can take the wheel and pull you on the right path.

Every Sunday, when I take the stage at Mercy Seat Christian Church I'm told that I'm one of Milwaukee's finest pickers and pluckers. I tell them that it's not me. It's Jesus that wears the Big Hat in the band.

Further to the Mayor's comment, could there be other influences creeping in? As you know I'm not interested in secularism, its arts or its investigations of the world we live in. God has already supplied full and accurate information and directs our efforts despite the calamity in Eden.

Sin which resulted infects everything. Nabal for example was particularly obnoxious, refusing to supply a feast for Future King David when he was in hiding from Saul for the obviously cooked up reason that the young men sent with David's request were unknown to Nabal. Sin does that; it makes people unreasonable.

I Samuel 25
1d-3c David arose, and went down to the wilderness of Paran. And there was a man in Maon, whose possessions were in Carmel; and the man was very great, and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats: and he was shearing his sheep in Carmel. Clearly anyone with four thousand head of bovids is fairly well-off. It would be a small matter to supply the fugitive enclave with victuals for a feast and refusal would warrant all the men and boys, all the rams and bucks, all the male kids and lambs and babies being killed God explains, for the wages of sin is death. Nabal refused.

14 But one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal's wife, saying, Behold, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to salute our master; and he railed on them.

She didn't mention any of this to Ol’ Man Horrible (her owner) and in case you're wondering if 2 bottles of wine would be sufficient I'm including some examples from the era where you can compare the height of the skirting board in the 44” or live humans in the others.

Abigail acknowledged this was her fault and that Nabal was in thrall to Belial so David decided not to kill all the males, especially since he could now have the feast. I'm sure Abigail would have liked to stay but odious Nabal was having a party and that's where she needed to be. He got fully off his onion, because of sin, then when he'd sobered up Abigail reminded him what was going to happen next and God killed him. What did David do? Married Abigail of course!

39-42 When David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be the LORD, that hath pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and hath kept his servant from evil: for the LORD hath returned the wickedness of Nabal upon his own head. And David sent and communed with Abigail, to take her to him to wife. Sin causes so much grief and pain and in this case David was merciful, preferring an alternative strategy which worked out rather well. But where did sin come from in the first place? God explains this too, so that we'll understand, and even though weird influences creep into bluegrass styles it's still possible for a Scriptural message to get through even if inadvertently. Would this be called bluegrass fusion?
