Were not claiming that the glaciers have disappeared, but unlike Greenland (which is 90% covered with glaciers) Iceland has only 12% of it's land covered by glaciers. As for your question for how the currents keep the middle of the land hot, it's because the water evaporates and travels in clouds to the middle of our country. It is definately colder in the middle but since our country is pretty small it keeps it completely warm. Greenland is surrounded by the cold water currents that move from Iceland to there. And if you think about your statement of athletes, consider this, Iceland has a 300.000 person population but we still have around 10.000 pro athletes, giving us around a 3% of our population as professional athletes. In comparison only 1% of America's population are professional athletes and thats not even counting all your unregistered citizens

Hello everyone.

First off, just let me say that I respects peoples right to choose a religion, whatever that religion may be, as long as it does not cause harm. I myself would like to believe in a greater power, but I am certainly not a part of any of the religions in todays world.

Now, I see a lot of Icelandic people coming to the forum, screaming or ranting about this post, which is understandable... because hey you just called all Icelandic people pedophiles and sons of satan because of something that some vikings did a thousand years ago. If this path were to be taken I bet we could pretty much curse every being on this planet.

I am also kind of astounded by the fact that you think Lazy Town is a pedophile show. Because someone that sees something wrong like that in the show, seriously needs mental help in my opinion. I see this show as a great motivator for getting kids to excercice which seems to be a really big problem over there in the U.S.A am i right?

The fact that you would also see fit to blame the economical problems of Iceland on God, is absurd and seems like another case of "O they did something bad and now God is punishing them".
But then again, I could rant on forever about the problems I have with the many religions of this world, again tho I respect your right to believe.
