    Golden State Valkyries, Norse Lesbians

    I could not believe my own eyes when I came across a women's professional basketball game on TV. One of the teams was from sinful California. Of course, it had a name honoring not God but the Norse god, Odin. The team's name is the "Valkyries." The Valkyries were Odin's female warriors. How could the state whose Governor was Ronald Reagan adopt a name like that?
