You all can spout Bible verses as much as you like but it doesn't change the fact that you all judge people as if you're superior to others. Just in case you didn't notice, God doesn't like that sort of stuff. As far as video games, I grew up in a good Christian family that allowed me to play violent video games. Why? Because my parents had enough sense to teach me not to choose some video game over God and my Lord and Savior. As far as I'm concerned, you people bring shame to God and all of Christianity.

I do not understand why the "kids" today need the ceasless overstimulation of the new video "games" to derive pleasure.

Remember when happiness was walking on a riverbank with your favorite pastor? Or the excitement of getting a new hair ribbon or clip-on tie to wear to the touring tent revival meeting that was rolling into town? Maybe it was helping Mom bake a new cake recipe, or helping Dad wash the family car.

And what happened to the joy of reading a good book, like the Bible©?

Books like the Bible© are so much more rewarding (and more stimulating, if that's what the child is looking for) than movies, or TV and radio shows, or the electronic "games", because with a book, you actually have to think up the images in your head. They're not all handed to you on a silver platter, like the video "games" today do, with their pounding rock music in the background.

So many people today are searching for an easy way out. They should try picking up a good book, like the Bible©.

It is true, what makes people happy has changed, but that does not mean that they would not still enjoy doing such activities that you have listed. The problem is an overall decrease in attention spans, which leads them to seek mindless activites, thus shortening attention spans, repeat ad nausium. If you have kids, do not force them do do things with you, they will hate you for it. But make things available, if you must, some amount of required bible reading shouldn't hurt, but don't overdo it.

And do not think that all videogames are mindless rock music, there are plenty that require complex thinking.

(And is putting the © after Bible really neccessary?)

Perhaps you are right, Brother Andreas. Yet judging from the literary "styles" displayed here by the guests, I cannot think they read very many books. And so few Bible© quotations!

It is my belief that the way we can help the children enjoy the simpler, purer joys we once knew is to restrict their access to the easy temptations. It is hard in a secular society to curtail them, which is one reason Jesus bid us to live isolated.

I appologize then, that was a mistake on my part. But I assure you, I would never attempt subliminal messages. Besides, by its very definition, a subliminal message would be incapable of having any effect on anyone who recieves it (subliminal = below the threashold of comprehension). And as for explatives, swearing is the crutch of the intellectually deviant.

And I am fairly certain any version of God's name can not be trademarked.

The way it was explained to me when I joined the church was that the (c) is to remind the world that it is the King James Bible that's not to be tampered with, or edited by using Scripture out of context. It is the One True Word.

The (tm) after Lord(tm), Jesus(tm), etc. is to remind us there is specific OWNERSHIP on those names. THEY own them. And we are not to use/take their names in vain.

But, a Pastor or Male Elder could explain this better than myself.
