Hi, it dose'nt matter.

What my brothers are pointing out is that you are picking the personality traits about God that you like but ignoring the bits that you don't.

You have seen scripture from the Good Book say that God loves us but also that he does not love every one because they sin: God hates the gays and murderers. It says so in the Bible (KJV1611). Since the Bible is either God's word or not you either have to beleive all of it or none of it.

When I came here I was suprised to find that God took names but the brothers and sisters here know what they are talking about.

God loves but it is also clear he hates a lot of people (bad people like gays and murderers) a great deal. If you love God you will obey him.

God. and you somehow got this idea in your head, that I created a friend, a god, in my head. no, i didn't, I have clearly stated in the past that I acknowledge that this god says things I do not believe in, yes the very god I believe in! it's the same one! Go away and think about what you believe. Where do your deeply held convictions come from? I would say they come from your head and have nothing to do with God and you're just projecting your own desires onto a vaguely remembered notion of their being things about God in a Bible you know nothing of and are struggling when people who know the Bible inside and out confront you with reality. God has only EVER told us what He wants in the Bible which is the only reliable record of God that isn't just imagined voices in other people's heads.

You are just constructing your own ideas and believing in an imaginary friend of your own construct. That imaginary friend does not exist but you use him to try to make your views above debate. This is cowardice. At least have the balls to come out and say you don't believe in God. We then have some honesty to work with.

but I am not running from God. I do believe in him, I just don't believe in some of what the bible says.
Ok, i'll tell you guys my perspective, cause I'm tired of arguing.
Ok, first of all, I don't like how the bible says that homosexuals should be condemned/stoned what have you, second, the discrimination against all that don't believe in god is something that I don't agree with, I don't think anyone should be discriminated against no matter what. Everyone is equal, that is my belief. That's pretty much it, everything else I'm fine with, but why do we have to descriminate, and why must people force their religion on others?
But I do believe in God, I have no doubt that he exists. I just don't believe in all the things the bible says

If you don't believe in what the Bible says than you don't believe God should have said it therefore you are saying God is wrong.

Now why not just admit you are an atheist pretending to be a Christian so you can mock God then go to bed and get some sleep. you really can't stay consistent about what you believe for five minutes.
