Well yes, but since it only appeared a fex decades ago, that doesn't necessarily mean there wasn't any sodomy before. Maybe God just had other punishments back then, when chlamydia, gonorrhea etc. (not syfilis, that came from South-America) were suitable punishments?

In the days before antibiotics, chlamydia and the like were horrible afflictions, which stayed with a fornicator all his days. Now, a Homer can go get a shot or a few pills, and it goes away in hours!

It's possible God felt a need to re-open the Book of Creation to release another virus to kill off Homers and other fornicators.

Brilliant proof of why Rachael is wrong. Leprosy is mentioned 37 times in the Bible, but there is not a single mention of AIDS or anyone trying to destroy marriage and demanding special rights, thus proving beyond all doubt that there were no queers in Jesus' day!
