Several months ago, a homer graduate student at the University of Nebraska wrote and choreographed a drag show with a name that included the words "Drag Mass". The local campus priest complained. Some Catholic students joined in.
The University President apologized. He promised the campus would not have future events that compromised the faith of local students and members of the public. He said he would immediately appoint a committee of esteemed people from religion, academia and business to draft a policy of what crosses the line in controversial performance. He would have the committee in place and at work before the end of summer, he said.
It is now Fall. No such committee has been named. No staff on the campus is working on forming the Committee. The President has no comment. Rumor has it no one will serve.
The President is making some simple into something complicated. He merely needs to write a policy and enforce it. The policy would read
NO HOMERISM, NO TRANS AND NO DRAG ON CAMPUS
Done. Problem solved.
