Pat Robertson and Haiti

I just saw footage of Pat Robertson claiming that Haiti's problems
over the years are a result of a pact they made with the devil and
they need to get right with God to stop all of their problems,
including things like this earthquake.
I disagree with him completely. I do not know what Haiti did during
their revolution against the French. But I do not believe that God
has been targeting them ever since. Nor do I believe that he caused
yesterday's earthquake to punish them in any way, or to teach them any
kind of lesson, or for any other reason. Pat Robertson is just full
of it.

God most certainly sent the earthquake to punish those heathen Haitians. The Lord is all powerful and everything that happens on earth is His doing. To suggest otherwise is blasphemy.

Juan, you're kidding, aren't you? Aren't you? No, really, say you're kidding. The Godly Reverend Robertson has been a constant and unwavering voice for evangelicals for many, many years and you fancy yourself smarter than he is? He has been the people's advocate for theocracy for longer than you've been alive and you think you've got a better grasp of the reality of Haiti's self-inflicted wounds that Pat Robertson does? Please, I reread your post and I'm stifling a laugh.

God and low taxes are the sole reasons that one nation prospers while another is mired in poverty and disaster:
